Look throughout history even in the bible young women have been getting pregnant by older men since well forever practically. Or to put it another way since organized government came into play. So why does society make a big deal about teen pregnancy, when it's been happening in the 1920's and 1930s. Nothing has really changed. But if your daughter is "adult" and woman enough to make adult choices with an "adult" male, and reap the consequences then I say you make them both pay for it after he gets out of jail. No giving it up for adoption or abortion thing that teaches her nothing.

As the father it is his responsibility to take care of both his mate and her child, sending him to jail would solve nothing and in fact potentially deprive the newborn of having a father in the long-run.
That said though, if he refuses to acknowledge what has happened, then jail becomes another option since he is obviously not mature enough to take responsibilities for his actions

I feel really sorry for you,I have a sixteen year old daughter too.The initial response is to put his *ss in jail. This won't 'unpregnant' your daughter, she may even hate you for it! Are they in a relationship,is he willing to take responsibility? If not, make him pay, pay, pay! If he is willing to be a good father, much as you may hate him right now,the best thing is too remain calm and be supportive. You don't want a resentful daughter and a grandchild that thinks you drove their daddy away.

I'd just see if he is going to be a man, to work and support his child. From jail he wont be able to do much of anything to help out with the baby, and the baby costs. At least get child support!

What country are you from?
If it's the UK and most EU states and she consented then you can't do anything.
apart from look on Ebay for some cheap bundles of unisex baby clothes a pram and cot.
personnaly I wouldn't do anything because if it was your daughters choice to have sex then she must have realised the possible outcome.
I have told my daughters if they get pregnant at a young age then I will stand by them, but the might aswell wave goodbye to their friend's because the next couple of years will be taken up looking after the baby.

Take care and think of your daughter first instead to the boy who made her pregnant. 16 year is too early for motherhood at the same time it is not advisable to go for abortion which may cause problem in next pregnancy. Take her to gyn and do whatever doctor suggests.

well if it were her decision to sleep with him, they both should pay for the responsibilities... putting him in jail wont solve anything, he will just find a way to get out... she needs to get child support, and u may have a better chance to get it if u don't press charges against him...

SUPPORT YOUR DAUGHTER-what ever she wants you to do,you should do.i was single,17 and pregnant.(very wrong i know!)the only thing that got me through it was my mums unwavering support.still to this day 10years on i am grateful.don't get me wrong-mum wanted to kill the father and cried herself to sleep for 2 weeks-but she was there for me.and yes.definitely make him pay for the child.its his responsibility and if he is in jail and your girl is 16-where will the $ come from?
