Hi

We took our 2 year old 2 weeks ago... we had the same worries as you, but we thought we would "see"

The result was - he loved every minute of it! - we did not push him to go on anything, he just followed daddy!!! - he went on 8 different (child suitable!) rides - oh and adored "Its a Small World" of course. I recommend starting off with this one.

There was a 4pm Princess Parade - one of the princesses waved at him, - all in all - the "scary" trip was a 100% success. Disney thinks of everything.

Enjoy your trip!

Well I have 3 kids and we have travelled from the UK to WDW Florida about 4 times now. We have taken them from as young as 6 months old.

Obviously from such a young age they do not remember much or anything at all. It depends upon the individual child and how aware they are of their surroundings.

I would recommend that the 'magical age' to take kids is anywhere between 5-10 as they still 'believe'.

The place is so magical it doesn't matter how old you are, you will always want to go back and explore more of Florida.

WDW are great at catering for ANY age young or old, we don't go on the rides, just the shows, which the kids enjoy more.

I would recommend you stay in a Disney hotel resort, they are very competitive in price and you can use the Disney bus transport system, no need to drive around yourself. There are extra benefits of staying in a Disney resort with security being one of them. Not that Florida is a bad place in any way but you know what tourist areas can be like.

Were going again in March and my kids ages are now 4, 8 & 12

Go round the travel agents and get the Disney DVD's that show you how to get the most out of WDW.

Take your 3 year old and enjoy because you can take her again when she is 5, 7, 9, etc.

Go there and enjoy yourself!

Check out Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Centre, International Drive, Florida Mall...........

It all depends on your child. Even though Disney has many activities and play areas for toddlers, it all depends on how your child handles lots of crowds.

I have a 2 year old son & he can get a bit overwhelmed being around too many people. I guess b/c it's always just me & him. You know your child better than anyone & can decide if this is the right time for Disney.

Believe it or not, I was actually looking at their website a few days ago & they have great packages for toddlers. Personally, I want to wait until my son is at least 5. He'll remember it more & definitely enjoy it more!

Good luck & don't forget to wish upon a star!

Since Disney is geared toward children, I would think that there are lots of things for a 3 year old to enjoy. Just stay away from the scarier rides and concentrate on things that she will recognize like the Princesses. Remember that things that may seem safe to you may frighten her, such as the characters that walk around the park. My kids loved to watch them from a distance, but didn't want to get too close. Make sure not to try to do too much in a day, too, or she might get overwhelmed. This link has information on Preschool activities and programs that she might enjoy: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/experience/experienceLanding?id=PreschoolersExperiencePage&count=1 Have fun!

There will be plenty a 3 year old can go on and they will love all the characters. You as adults can go on the scary rides taking turns at looking after the little one. There will be loads more than just the rides, there wlil be shows, animals, characters and water to splash in. The only slight problem with being 3 is that they won't actually remember it in a few years time - at that age they don't care where they go as long as they're with you. The holiday will be more about what you want rather than the little one. We learned that when my little girl was 2 and we tried to do a Spanish holiday. Since then we just rent a static caravan by the seaside where there is evening entertainment - my little girl just loves digging in the sand and running around with the other kids, simple pleasures.

Not at all. We took our daughter when she was 3 and she had a great time. We took her umbrella stroller in case she got tired because it is a lot of walking for a 3 year old. Disney has plenty of rides for smaller children. Don't force your child to ride something that he or she is afraid of or don't force them to talk with the characters if they are afraid. My daughter would not even get close to the characters until she was 5. Disney is a place for kids of all ages, so go & have fun!!

First of all Disney world is too good for kids (just joking) A three year old would have a great time but lots of the rides have height restrictions, so if she has taller siblings that can go on the rides and the 3 yr okd can't....you've got problems. I would save the trip till she/he is older and can really appreciate the memories of it.

Depends what sort of rides you want to go on. There is plenty of stuff there for little kids, but a 3yr old wont be tall enough for most of the scary rides. Meaning youl either have to skip those rides, or wait in line twice, while one adult goes on ride while the other takes care of the child.

I'm sure she would love it. Mind you there will be alot of things you can't do or go on, but enough for her to enjoy. I took my son this year to Euro Disney and he just turned 6. He was just amazed at everything. He was still too young to go on most of the rides but he really enjoyed just walking around and seeing everything. I do think I will wait to take him to Florida though until he is old enough to go on everything, maybe when he is 10. I'm sure he will have a completely different experience then.

Its a magical place ! we waited till our boys were slightly older as there can be hieght restrictions on a lot of things, having said that there is sooooo much there she wont miss out on anything. They can be long days as there is so much to see so I would plan on building in time for a cat nap etc, a lot to take in even for adults. I cant think of anything that might scare her, a lot of thought has gone into everything. Personally I think a better age for memories of it and being able to know what its all about is 5/6 onwards. I hope you all have a really great time !
