Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 January 2007

I am a single mom who has recently started dating a single dad. Combined we have 6 kids! I have a 2 year old boy and a 3 year old boy. He has twin 10 year old girls, a 12 year old boy and a 20 year old boy.

We are trying to figure out some acitivies that we can all do together (mainly the 5 young kids, not the 20 old who lives away fromhome) or even just some advice from families with a span like this on how they handle things.

We know we don't have to do everythign together but would like to find something we can all enjoy. One thing we found was the beach. All the kids love that, playing in the sand etc. Great except we have a long winter where we live! Although in the winter we all love to go tobogganing so that's a good one as well.

My friend have four second trimester miscarriages in four years.Previously doctors told many reasons of infections e.g. TORCH,TSH,CHROMOSONAL,LNA,LCA etc. But there was no reasons among them.Now an infertility expert is suggesting some tests on first & third day of m.c.The problem is that all of sudden sac comes out & bleeding starts afterthat in few hours without pain.The infertility & Ultrasonic expert is not agreeing with incompetent cervix theory at all. Kindly help her by providing clues & remedies of the problems. Serious answers are solicited please.

Im nine and a half weeks pregnant, im soo happy and have a partner who is as excited as me. I just fear the worst, im soo scared it will all go away... i started to get little twinges in my lower stomach where u would get period pains. They dont hurt but i know they are they, they just come and go. Is this normal? I had a scan at 7 and a half weeks, and we saw a heartbeat. Im not lettin it get ontop of me... but it is stoppin me from enjoyin it. Maybe when i get it 12 weeks i will feel more secure? I know soo many ppl that have suffered miscarriages and i know im at a point where the risk is very high xxxx

After watching the movie Troy, and being able to successfully ignore that Orlando Bloom was incredibly annoying, I fell in love with Paris as a male name.

In the future I plan on adopting and naming a boy Paris. I wonder what other people think of this name for a boy, so have at it.

Think it's too feminine sounding?
Don't like that it's connected with Paris Hilton?
Just don't like the name?

I'm interested in knowing.

Not that I have a problem with it, I just thought its a bit funny to think about, but dont you think more dads (the ones that do mind) wouldnt mind helping with the baby if everything wasnt pink and blue, with names like 'boppy pillow'. If I had to go buy to the store and buy a chrome container of baby wipes, I'd buy em and brag about it to my friends before hand.

have pregnancy discharge? like say i ended my cycle on the 24th of dec n at first i had a think milky discharge * no ordor or problems* now its like a creamy white color.. could this be a result of pregnancy? or is it too soon to tell based on discharge.. oh yea my nipples are slightly more tender then regular..

Am 22yrs old been married for 1yr and a half now.
Were planning for a family these last 2 months, I had my period on the 24th dec now am due on the 21st Jan 07. I had my ovulation on the 7th, from the next day which is the 8th am feeling strange on and off during the day i feel slight pain in my lower abdomen but not light period pain more light but sometimes very striking and in different places or on the sides or in the very middle.

Could this be happing coz am overduing my body with frequent sexual intercourse?

my daughter is 17 years old, she manages to know my credit card number and been ordering clothes ect. from the internet. at first she would not own up to it until the letters arrives asking for my signature to give permission for investigation and maybe police involvement. she promise to pay for it but when i ask her for money she said she does not have enough wages to pay for another months. she also did it again with my other card, i dont know how she find the number and i'm really worried that she end up in prison when she is older. any advice?

My 4 Month old has Acid Reflux and I have a hard time putting him on his tummy without him screaming in pain. Even If I put him down for a few minutes it bothers him, but my family is pressuring me saying that tummy time is so important for his development and he could be delayed if I don't put him on his belly. Has anyone had a child that developed just fine without tummy time?

Im an above-average 13 year old girl but Im starting have really bad grades now. It is the first time I'll have a 75 in my report card. :( I dont know what to do. My parents will be furious. I bought my children various games and consoles for christmas, but trying to get them to play with them for longer than an hour has been a nightmare. Night after night I try to get them to sit in front of the telly but all I hear is - Mum can we draw, Mum can we paint, there so ungrateful. It isn't all the time. Sometimes the entire feeding, at the end, and or not at all. I tried changing the flow of the nipple but it seems to be the same.Could it be she is full? Although she continues to eat. Please any advice would be great

I am now in day 34 of my cycle - am normally around 28 to 29 days. Came off pill 2 months ago and we've been trying for baby. I've since done 2 pregnancy tests - both from Poundland which I'm sure are fine but both negative. It took only 2 months for me to fall last time round and I'm sure I'm pregnant as am never late either!! Haven't done test in the morning yet - do you think I should buy a more reputable test and do in the morning? Don't want to waste money but driving myself nuts wanting to know!! Can't seem to accept the negative results even though am normally a logical person who would accept this and get on with it!!

my mum used to make me meals and I'd be expected to eat them. Now I have kids of my own I wish I'd carried on doing this with my two. instead I've always given them a choice of what to have. Now they are a bit older they are asking for the same stuff all the time and won't try anything new. I know it's my own fault and I don't want any lectures, but has anyone else experienced this, and if so, what have you done to solve it?
