Not that I have a problem with it, I just thought its a bit funny to think about, but dont you think more dads (the ones that do mind) wouldnt mind helping with the baby if everything wasnt pink and blue, with names like 'boppy pillow'. If I had to go buy to the store and buy a chrome container of baby wipes, I'd buy em and brag about it to my friends before hand.

Sounds like a marketing idea to me! My husband did a lot of our child rearing. My sons are all the better for it and we worked as more of a team. I think our sons will be better Father's themselves because of it. He did all the 'guy' stuff with them.

I think more of today's parents are moving away from the pink and blue stuff anyway. And check out those huggies packages they are red and white!

My DH (darling husband) is, for the most part, a stay at home Daddy. We both work, however we have schedules that basically have a "hand off" on the front porch. We also have a "baby sitter" of sorts (family friend) that watches our son when the schedules conflict (i.e. we both are at work at the same time). I can tell you that my DH LOVES his time with our son. It's important and an opportunity that my Dad certainly didn't have (my family was the classic Mom is at home Dad is at work all the time and had to ask what "he" got us for our birthdays since my Mom did all the shopping! LOL)
And there are things that you can purchase that are very masculine in nature for the "child rearing" duties. I myself REFUSED to carry around anything "fru-fru" as I am sadly, not in touch with my feminine side (much to my Mom's chagrine). Our diaper bag is actually a back pack and it is really cool! Plenty of pockets and space for all the baby needs (especially since I do not carry a purse or hand bag!) I can also attest to our unique answer for the "boppy pillow." It was a gift at our shower (which by the way was co-ed!! We did a pig pickin' with a couple of kegs...which wasn't fair since I had to drink stupid punch!!!) and it really did come in handy with the little guy. Well, lets face it, spit happens and if you don't have a cover on the "pillow," it's a pain to try and clean. Solution - create a cover for the powder blue boppy pillow out of CAMMO! Yep, DH is a Marine, so, I made a boppy pillow cover out of camouflage print. Cool, huh?
I guess it's all how you look at it. You can convert a tool belt into an all purpose baby-essentials belt for when you are out and about!
I'm just happy the my son and husband get to bond with each other - something I think more father's wish they had an opportunity to do (even if they realize it later in life). DH is the single most influential male role model in my son's life - always will be.

i love stay at home dads!!!! they are so awesome. it just means we are moving away from the womans' position being "bare foot and pregnant in the kitchen". i also think it helps to build a more healthy relationship with the child.

ok don't think i'm an idiot for this, but does chrome rust?? i think that's why they put the wipes in plastic containers to avoid things like that. what about making the containers look like cars or something? i think you're on a role there.

KUDDOS TO ALL YOU STAY AT HOME DADS!!! YOU GOT MY RESPECT 100%

I'm Single dad of twin boys and have been since they were 4months (they are 3 yrs now), Not stay at home (gotta earn money somehow) But Everything is directed at moms, witht he cute names and everything. But i didn't mind, when i'd walk wiht the stroller and the blue baby towels lol (all tho it feels a bit odd ) it had its upsides lol, i get adoring looks from the moms at the park, they'd turn to there hubbys and go "see he looks after HIS kids".

Perhaps your on to something here! That sounds like a good idea to me. I know a lot of people both male and female who would like to have something besides the patterns and colors available today for baby. Chrome, nickle (my favorite), silver, all would be a good change. I think you should look into this, there may be money to be made.

More dads are stay at home because their wives are better educated and have good jobs where dad can stay at home. My husband stayed at home for 2 years then decided he wanted to go back to work. Not easy being Mr Mom

If you are handy and have the tools you could make some yourself and turn it into an online business...marketing items for dads. My husband complained about the diaper bags I had so I got him a plain black one for when he took our son out by himself.

It's great to see stay home dads and help their wives with the kids. After all that's what marriage is all about.
