Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 January 2007

I have recently come off the contraceptive pill after 8 years....was due my period over a week ago but it has still not arrived. Does anyone know anything about this and had experience coming off the pill. Does it take time for a normal period to arrive? Dont think I can be pregnant, very very very careful!

My grandson was born June 13, 2006. My stepdaughter (19) has not had a period since he was born, has not been on any form of birth control and has admitted to having unprotected sex. Has taken three home tests she says (2 positive, 1 negative), one urine test administered by the doctor (negative) and one blood test (negative). Everyone who sees her asks if she's pregnant (gaining weight in stomach only). Says that she has not felt any movement but looks at least five months pregnant. We have tried to get her to see a doctor but she has been putting it off. Anyone else have similar circumstances?

We have grounded our 15 year old son for stealing my VERY valuable coin collection. One coin was worth at least $1100.00. He stole in excess of $20,000 worth of coins. We were unable to get most of them back. We grounded him from EVERYTHING. As well as made him pay back some of the money. (He'll never be able to pay back the full value) During the grounding though we found out he was sneaking around and doing things he was NOT allowed to do. When caught he lied even after he was busted and there was no way out he tried to maintain the lie. He has been grounded for about 6 weeks now and continues to sneak around. His grades are TERRIBLE, we had him drug tested and it was negative. We control where he goes and with whom. (Which is nowhere unless with us) We are at our witts end.... Any brilliant ideas?

My daughter has spotted an advert on kids tv for some product you put in kids baths that turns it a funny colour and its consistency goes to a wall-papper paste type gloop...does this sound safe to anyone..has anyone got it or used it?

My 11 month old son co-sleeps with us. He has just barely begun to eat solid foods during the day. He wasn't showing much of an interest until recently. Anyway... he still nurses several times a night. I was just wondering if this is normal for breastfeeding babies?

i was wondering if it was ok for me to leave my two small children in the car if they are asleep while i popped into supermarket and got a few things?

by this i mean pulling up at an asda or tesco, park near the front and quickly run in and get a few things rather than wake them up, put them into a trolly, run round the supermarket and struggle to get them back into the car again, while their crying because i woke them up.

i dont mean leaving them for hours or anything and id only do this if it was for a few things at the supermarket.

would it be ok?

hi every one I have PCOS and have been ttc for over a year with one m/c recently I have not been ovulating at all. The doctors say they can't do anything for another 8 months. My mum is sending me Wild Yam Cream she swears by it for regulating her period when she was going though menopause. Does any one have any experiencing with it helping them to conceive? or know of any ttc stories using Wild Yam cream whether or not it helped?

I am 30+,single,never married,never been in a realtionship.
You might think its abnormal but i am an Indian and this
is quite normal.

My sisterinlaw is going to deliver a baby shortly
and i have been dreaming about the baby for some time now.

I listen to baby crying,smiling audios on the internet. I see baby
photos,I imagine baby talking etc...

Then i feel depressed.I don't think i could ever have a baby
because no man likes me enough to marry me.

I don't know what to do with myself !

My partners 3 and a half year old is still in nappies and refuses to potty train i tried a couple of times by putting the potty next to her and she wee'd and pooed on the carpet the potty was right next to her! What can we do to help her learn my daughter was 3 and i had her sit on the potty in front of the tv during the day took me a week and she was toilet trained wish it would work for his daughter!

I delivered 8.5 months back and had my periods 9 days back for the first time after delivery. I had unprotected sex thrice in the last 3 days. Are there any chances of me getting pregnant by these intercopurses? I dont want to get pregnant so soon. What can I do to avoid pregnancy now if at all these encounters cause pregnancy?
Are there any over-the-counter medicines for this or should I see a doc? Please please help. What is the safe period in this case to follow safe sex?

For the past 2 weeks i have been having dreams about me being pregnant almost every night but i got a few days till my cycle. Does anybody think i could be pregnant having those dreams and also i just can't stop thinking about it. I had rings put around my tubes after my son was born in August but it's not 100% effective. Okay i have the best child anyone could ask for! Hes talented, well behaved, smart and cute!!! But hes in school now and i just started noticing that he comes home whinny sometimes. I kind of shrugged it off at first but its not changing. I dont know if its the school or just his age? Its not THAT big of deal, but i was just wondering if any parents have noticed the same thing with their 4 year olds and 5 year olds. The other day we were coloring a picture and he went outside the lines and got sooo upset about it! I tried to explain to him that its okay and i thought he did a great job but he was so upset!!!

My daughter from birth to now which is 4years old has been hyperactive going from morning noon till night she never stops. What ideas do you have for checking to see if she has ADHD she has no concentration can't sit still for more than 2mins when asked to do something just ignores me, picks and annoys her 3year old step sister as she winges every time my daughter goes near her so makes my daughter worse. Just don't know what else to do about it.
