I am now in day 34 of my cycle - am normally around 28 to 29 days. Came off pill 2 months ago and we've been trying for baby. I've since done 2 pregnancy tests - both from Poundland which I'm sure are fine but both negative. It took only 2 months for me to fall last time round and I'm sure I'm pregnant as am never late either!! Haven't done test in the morning yet - do you think I should buy a more reputable test and do in the morning? Don't want to waste money but driving myself nuts wanting to know!! Can't seem to accept the negative results even though am normally a logical person who would accept this and get on with it!!

Being so early in the pregnancy, the only way to really get a true reading on a pregnancy test is to use first morning urine. You should get a new test, drink some water and go to the bathroom before bed and then test with first morning urine. Do not get up in the middle of the night to go potty! It has to be concentrated for at least 8 hours to be really reliable.

Good luck!

I would give it a bit longer. When you first come off the pill it takes your body a while to get back into a routine.
I understand what it is like though - I am in the same situation as you and the very first day my period is late I try a test and do one a day till it starts.
If you are pregnant the test picks up hormones in your urine which get stronger the 'more' preganant you become. It could be you are pregnant but there is not enough of these things in your system for the tst to pick up.
I know it is hard but I woudl wait a full 7 days overdue before taking the test again.
The best time to do this is in the morning when there will be a bigger concentration of horones in your urine.
Meanwhile I buy great tests from ebay - they are so cheap and you can buy in bulk if you want or just the two.
I use the Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) tests which are very early tests which give a result as early as 7-10 days after conception.
Take a look at the following: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/TK-Diagnostics
Good luck x

Yes. Go and buy a better standard pregnancy test as you can't be too sure and these tests could be positive negatives. If you've been trying for a baby then it might've worked. I thought i was pregnant and took a test which was negative. A month later it was positive and i'm now expecting. My friend had her periods throughout her pregnancy so didn't think she was pregnant. It's better spending the extra money, doing a 1st morning sample and test and giving yourself peace of mind if anything. Good Luck!

Just wait a little longer. I missed my period for 5 days and took to tests. one in the morning and one in the afternoon and both said negative. And today I am 4 month pregnant. I took another one 2 weeks later. I was on the pill for 9 years and was only of the pill for about 2 weeks when I fell pegnant.

good luck and I wish you all the best

Didn't know you could get them from Poundland! You sound just like I was when I was trying. Nothing anyone says to you will stop you from doing pregnancy tests. I remember going to the bank for my work and popping into the chemist next door for a test and then doing it in the public toilets in this little village! Just take a deep breath and put it out of your head for one week. If you don't start your period within that week then buy another testing kit from Boots or somewhere.

it may take a while. have lots of freaky sex and take the test in 2 weeks. It took me almost 6 months to get preg the second time around. It took me 1 time to get preg with my first baby. Its seems like when you really want a baby its a neg but if you really dont want a baby at that moment its a positive!

Im in the same shoes as you apart from i dont believe in buying tests from shops or chemists as mine keep coming back negative to, and i am 4 weeks late your best bet is to go and see your gp they will give you an accurate answer. Hope you get the answer you want.
