i am at work now, but i get off at 8am and sleep til 4 when he gets up from his nap. I wanna do something with him this evening but its winter so we cant walk. Any ideas?

Well without knowing your city its hard to say...
but I used to take my child to the following places around that age:
Public Library...read books to him, take out books (board books of course) movies and audio tapes FREE
Indoor Gardens...my city had a huge indoor garden with fish ponds and a playground FREE
Mall...go walk around indoors and have ice cream...go to dollar store LOW COST
Swimming Pool...Some pools are great for babies and have baby pools or shallow entrances like a beach...call around your city (try to find the warmest one) LOW COST
I dunno, maybe your city has one of those indoor playground places..they are amazing and fun for all ages (like McDonalds play places but way way bigger..and you and your child can play in it together) A FEW DOLLARS ADMISSION ???

How about a zoo? Kids that age love animals. If no zoo is around take him anywhere just have fun doing. He will love anything especially if he is able to walk around.

The mall. Walk around with him but do not get him into the habit of buying things for him each time you go because as they get older their toys get more expensive.

go to the mall and cruise around with him in the stroller. toy stores are always fun.

try taking him to the park if its dry it doesn't matter if its cold he'll warm up running around and ITS FREE.
