I'm sure you can deliver normally, could be your due dates were off. I would think they would be scheduling a inducement before too long. My best friend is VERY tiny, she delivered a 10 lb baby boy last February, shocked us all! We weren't sure where she was hiding the baby let alone to have one that large naturally without any problems.

I understand that you are scared of a c section, my first 3 children were delivered naturally an I ended up with a csection with our fourth. Even though I'd been through all the classes etc the thought of a csection scared the hell out of me. It went rather quickly. I was awake, couldn't believe how fast it was over. Hubby stayed by my side the entire time, I ha to have the c section not because of the baby but because of having 2 heart attacks while getting treatment for preterm labor. Anyway, my cardiologist insisted on a csection. It really went very quickly, they even let me take in my favorite picture of my sons.

I know it's hard to wait and to be so unsure of how things will go.

Your due date is an estimation. Your baby may not be ready to join us quite yet. I recently had a cs and If I could have avoided it I would have. The Dr. guess on the weight is also an estimation it could be more or less. Women give birth to 10 pounders so eight is not to big for a vaginal birth. you can always induce labor to help avoid the cs. Walking is supposed to be helpful. Just keep in mind it is your choice don't be pressured into a CS unless medically something is wrong. Ex. high blood pressure, diabetes. If you end up having a c-section it's a fast procedure. Your baby will be born in about ten minutes. You get to say hello and in about an hour you are back with your baby. It is painful once the pain reliever wares off but they offer you plenty of pain relief thereafter. Just remember when its all over there is a beautiful little person that can't wait to be in your arms! Good luck to and your little one

Hi No the baby is not too big My one friend just had a baby less than a week ago and her baby was 8lbs and her body frame is very small. So nothing to worry about on the other hand if there is a problem and you have to have one again nothing to worry about I have two children both born by c-s cos I have a heart condition it was great and you don't feel a thing the healing takes a bit longer but you can still be normal and do your everyday things besides hard cleaning but you can take care of the baby just fine and honestly the thought of natural birth is more scary to me than a c-s I also know of a few people that have had both and they preferred a c-s to natural so Don't stress about it and good luck! :)

The cervix has to soften up first. This happens with prostoglandin. Seaman has a lot of prostoglandin. I suggest sex several times a day to bathe the cervix with seaman to soften it. Most Drs tell people that their baby is too big. They are preparing them for a cesarean. Some Drs cesarean section rate is 50%.

If you go natural you will have a better chance of not having a cesarean. Stay home until labor hurts so bad it buckles your knees when you try to walk during a contraction. As long as the baby is moving fine there should be no problem. This is the same advice I gave patients when I worked the triage room at a maternity unit

Another hospital Kaiser I worked at use to use protoglandin in a jelly form and insert it around the cervix in order to soften it. They would put it in and then monitor the mom and baby for four hours then send them hom. Their c section rate was low.

most women can with out a problem. if you get into a squatting position to labor it also opens the pelvic outlet by an additional 30%.
some women have 10+lb babies with no problems, others have a hard time at 7. you really can't tell until the baby is engaged and labor starts

Unless there is something wrong with your pelvis, or something else wrong with the baby, you should be able to naturally give birth to an 8 lb baby. If the baby is head-down, they should be able to induce you before having to try the c/s option. People deliver 10lb and 11lb babies everyday.

good luck and enjoy your baby they grow up so fast

some lady pick to flow for a c-section yet for the most section it truly is with the aid of distinct medical causes definite if the toddler is to substantial is one among them or if there are topics for the period of exertions , also if the cord is round babys neck and such issues as that . I really have had 2 c-sections myself the first time the cord changed into round my sons neck and the 2d time the overall practitioner suggested that it would want to be safer to flow ahead and plan a c-section .
