Be honest and up front about it. You need to tell them. Come to them and be honest, finding out from the report card puts your parents in shock and they are more likely to get on your case. Prepare them. Last year our son came to us and said he was had trouble and did not do well in his math class. We were upset but not nearly as upset as we would have been had we found out through the report card without the warning. It also impressed us and showed that our son was mature enough to come forward and speak to us about it.

Grades are becoming increasingly important now that you are getting older, your parents are just concerned about your future. Think of specific things you can do to do better this next semester. Talk the list over with your parents tell them you want their help, work as a team and everyone will be happier.

If you were to talk to them about it, would they listen? You admit you didn't really pay attention, and they likely won't like that, but honesty is the best policy. If they would listen, tell them about how their high expectations make you feel. Maybe y'all could come to some kind of understanding where they'd be less harsh.

Oh, and do pay more attention in class from now on. It may be boring, but you're not doing yourself any favors by blowing it off. I speak from experience.

You have to Tell your parents this, they must understand that this is bothering you.
And most likely this is only a one time thing
my marks dropped and i talked to my mom about it and she understands that school is hard, and you can't always be the best at things.
If there are any punishments they want to give you, go along with them, don't try and fight them off, because it was your fault in the first place that you didn't listen in class.

Ask to talk to them in the kitchen. Hand them the report card with one hand and the wooden spoon with the other hand. Let them read the card and then bend over and take your medicine young lady. Then afterwards you can discuss with them the problems you are having. Now study study study.
