my son is 3 years old, and occasionally calls for us at night, so we still use a monitor. (we wouldn't be able to hear him without it.)
he wakes up sometimes when his eczema flares up.

My ILs are talking about getting a boat (a sports speed boat). I say that as long as the kid is a baby and will sleep quietly in mom's (or dad's) arms and is wearing a life jacket it is ok but then once the kid starts walking they need to take a break from the boat until they are more responsible like around 5 or so. Especially since waterskiiing will be taking place and some may be distracted.

Also at what age would you allow the child to start water skiing? I would say around 10-12. They think 6-8.

Also, is murder legal if your husband doesn't agree with you on these issues? I am ready to kill him.

It should be noted that my mother and I agree and my husband and his mother agree. It's parent and grandparent against parent and grandparent.

Also, wouldn't you think that if one parent was a little more cautious than the other that it is only fair to go with the more conservative parent rather that just go along with something that one parent is uncomfortable with?

PS has been tremendously beneficial to my family and myself to assist in mental clarity and plays a role in membrane integrity of the brain. Any advantage to adding small amounts to my infant's formula? Also the DHA and ARA found in formulas now that has been shown to improve eyesight and memory in infants fed breastmilk or fortified formulas (almost every brand has a variety). Would adding small amounts of purified fish oil with EPA/DHA and no extra Vitamin A/E benefit my infant also or could there be digestive issues? Thanks for your advise!

1) I am 32 years old and my Mom had toxemia with me, if I were to get pregnant, am I at risk to get toxemia?

2) I am 4'10" and weigh a little over 145 pounds. What is a good weight to get down to before I start trying to get pregnant?

3) My fiancee' is 31 and is 5'10" as I said above I am 4'10" and 32 and I just read that you can have problems if you are small and the baby's father is bigger. Is this true and what kind of problems?

4) How possible is it for me to have twins at my age of 32 - (actually probably more like 33 or 34 at time of pregnancy, and the father's Mom is a twin too, an identical twin). I was just curious. :)

I am 38 weeks +5days pregnant - almost 40! I had false labor for 6 hours friday with no progress... sent home :(
Anyway, I've already lost my plug (a week ago) and have had quite a bit l 'bloody show' mucus. Today I had my weekly appointment & this time I am almost 70% effaced (last week i was zero) and 2cm dilated, so he stripped my membranes (how unpleasant is that!) Has anyone had this done & if so, how what was the outcome ... how long after did labor begin? Thanks!

I have a three year old and a ten month old and my husband thinks its funny to coax the three year old to curse. And when she does say a bad word he laughs and makes her repeat it. I think it's inappropriate for little child to curse and I make it a habbit of telling my oldest not to do it. But her dad always changes the rules. He says he has no problem with it as long as she doesn't say the F word. I think when they are teenagers I could handle them saying the occasional curse word, but three and ten months on ward to school age is way too young. What do you think?

Since thursday I have been bottle feeding and now I have thought about breast feeding. But I have little knowledge on the do's and don'ts. Like I have heard you have to watch what you eat...like pop and junk food and stuff. I have also heard you can't take medicine..like cough syrup and tylenol. I also heard you should take your prenatal vitamin for the entire time.

If anyone could give me the basics on breastfeeding...I would be grateful. Thank you.

My sister and her husband have been unable to conceive and want to have a family more than anything. They would love to adopt a child and are open to infants or older children (even a brother/sister combo) up to 7-8 years old. They don't want to foster a child because the heartbreak would be too much if the crack addict mother came back and took the child. They want a clean adoption and don't have the big bucks it takes to go to China or to adopt through a private agency. How can they adopt if they don't have all sorts of money? i think my period is coming irregular this month or somthing. i had my last period on the 6th of august and me and my husband were trying to conceive since the Aug. 18. i didnt get my period yet. today is sept. 18 and both my boobs have been hurting including my left boob nipple starting yesterday. also, yesterday the enitre day i felt very dehydrated like i couldnt get enough water and today i feel fine. i had a very small cramping this morning but it went away. i feel more exhausted thatn usual. i took a pregnancy test early this morning and it said " not pregnant" i still feel like i am. i have a doctor appointment in two weeks. My boobs has never hurt like this when i had my period,yesterday the right nipple hurt and now today the left nipple hurts a little but both of my breat still hurts a little. anyone has any close experiences?

My three year old daughter likes to touch herself. I know it's normal and I have always just ignored it because I don't want her to be ashamed or to feel like she is doing anything wrong. But she is getting older and she grabs herself infront of other people now, not just at home. My mom even called me and asked me why she keeps grabbing her privates. Now, I know some would suspect abuse and she is touching herself because of something like that, but I can assure you that's not the case. I'm a stay at home mom and I am with my daughter at all times. She has just always had a fasination with herself, even from real early on. How do I approach a three year old on something like this? I don't want to embarrass her or make her feel like it's wrong. I just can't have her grabbing herself in public. Help! I don't know how to handle this. I know she is young but how much can she understand this early on in life about when is a right time to "play" with yourself. Any advice?

on friday i went to the dr and was 2 cm 50%. all weekend i was having cramps, contractions, i was natious, i had loose bowel movements, some were very watery, and every time i walked i would have sharp shooting pains in my vagina...im just wondering how normal all this is and if it is any kind of indication of some realistic timeframe i am looking at now. i am 37 weeks and measuring big...i am scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow to get an idea how big he is. if these new symptoms are an indication of labor coming soon is there anything effective i can do to move it along a little faster...and if its not any sort of indication is there anything i can do to alleviate some of the more uncomfortable symptoms such as the shooting pain and the feeling like i am going to throw up all the time??

My 14 yr old daughter who has learning disabilties & needs a *little* extra help; she leaves her things out in her room constantly. The only problem I have is that she has two younger siblings, who could possibly get hurt by her leaving out things such as small objects they could choke on, sometimes cleansers, scissors, etc. Just things that should not be left out where the kids could possibly get to. FYI her room is usually closed with a child-proof knob, however, it's still not acceptable for those things to be out where the kids can get to them. She can put these things on a dresser, in drawers, away where they are supposed to be.

I am at my wits end and want to just throw stuff away now.
I have tried taking the stuff I find and putting it in a bag until a month later, but she doesn't care.

Is it wrong for me to throw out her personal belongings? If you're a teenager, how would that make you feel? If you're a mom, any other ideas that have worked?

Im 21 years old and have had three children ages 5,4 and 3 months by the same father. I had a complicated pregnancy with my last one. I bled alot in the first couple of months while i was pregnant and my acid reflux disease is soo bad that sometimes i can hardley breathe. I Suffer from Anxiety and my hands are already full with the children i have. I think i might be pregnant again and my body literally cannot handle another pregnancy. Yet i can only be a couple weeks along and i do not have the money to pay for an abortion. I know its my fault and what causes it, im stupid for not being more careful.. What can i do??? Im soo confused and lost right now. Please help me. I will not feel offended by anyones answers.
