I know that you are not suppost to feed in with rice in his bottle, but this seems to be the only way I can feed him. If I don't he eats like every hour. What have you folks done differently?

I also have a 4.5 month old son, and yes he still eats every two to three hours depending on how much he eats. They go through growth spurts lot during the beginning stages of life, but then they just eat more formula or breast milk. Try veggies or other solids, yes some people also do put the rice in the bottle, or even just try to give it to him separate then the bottle. I would ask your doc for advise first... before you take my advise, because I am not a professional I just have my own child and I know what I would do with him. I do not give him anything but breast milk still and yes he still wakes up every 2-4 hours at night but that is okay because they are so worth it. As long as they are gaining weight and seem healthy then you have nothing to worry about.. keep doing what seems best.

Try putting it in a bowl and just making up a mixture a little thicker. By that age, I was also using a fork to mash up a banana to put in the cereal. I started the cereal at about 4 weeks, but I never put it in a bottle. Always used a spoon and bowl.

I understand how you feel about the every hour, I was feeding my son like that and he was not gaining weight. Doc was accusing me of not feeding him enough. I started the cereal and about 2 weeks later, added in a little mashed banana. He was sleeping better and gaining weight.

My son was the same way and my doctor told me to feed rice in a bottle once in the morning and once at night. He truned out just fine.

My sixteen month old has been doing something quite comparable to this for a mutually as now. some nights it is going to easily be a whine and he or she would be waiting to no longer probably be wide awake, so it extremely is often ok, yet some nights it extremely is finished on bloody homicide in case you're no longer in there rapidly. the only component that comforts her is to be taken into our room and he or she lies down in our mattress with us. I desire I knew what it replaced into that replaced into inflicting it, simply by fact she seems so afraid, the only component that makes the main sense are nightmares, yet i've got heard lots of folk say their toddler did something comparable to night wakings/terrors around that age, so perhaps it extremely is a uncomplicated component.

I SAY FEED YOU BABY! DON'T FEED HIM OR HER A RICE BOTTLE EVERY TIME YOU MAKE ONE . I WOULD GIVE THE BABY ONE IN THE MORNING AND ONE AT NIGHT. SO THAT HE OR SHE CAN SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT, AND NOT KEEP YOU UP ALL NIGHT. MY BABIES WERE STRICTLY MILK BABIES, AND MY SON WAS BORN 10LBS AND 14 OUNCES ALL HE HAD WAS MILK. I GAVE HIM A BOTTLE EVERY TIME HE WANTED ONE . MOTHER KNOWS BEST!
