well, some people really love children and like to help with this. now, the only thing with being an ob/gyn is that usually the ppl that see them, there is something wrong with them. unless its an annual exam, or a pregnancy, theres alot of icky stuff as far as yeast infections, and other really gross stuff. the obstetrician end of it, yes, you will see more than likely some stillborns, it is common, but you will see 50 times more babys that are healthy.
if this field is too much for you, maybe i could suggest you looking into being a pediatrician, where you specialize in babies and toddlers, but you dont deal with the births or the yucky stuff.

There is nothing gross about getting to be there for a woman during one of the most special times in her life. As with any job there are aspects that are not as glamorous as others, but you need to look at the big picture too. As long as you think you can handle the grosser parts of the job, just think of how rewarding it will be to deliver a healthy baby and put it in their mothers arms for the first time.

Is there any way that the wellbeing practitioner's place of work can e mail or fax you the questionnaire so which you will fill out previously you bypass to the appointment? I take my 2 twelve months previous son to the ob/gyn with me constantly as i'm 8 months pregnant. I would desire to deliver him his snacks, juice, and a pair toys to entertain him. I additionally deliver him his fashionable e book. i began out out by potential of strapping him in his stroller for the time of the bypass to. Now he's used to going with me that i don't use the stroller. he's extraordinarily calm for the time of maximum visits, each now and then he gets ansty, so I take him outdoors the place of work and walk him around and purely seek advice from him quietly. This frequently works. yet do not freak out if he does throw a tantrum, many young infants do in a doctor's place of work. don't be embarrassed, it is common. solid success.

No question that being an OB/GYN is an honorable career choice. Be aware, though, that it is inherently risky, with a very high probability that you will be sued, since everyone expects a perfect outcome.

No, it is not nasty at all. People like you would be bringing new lives into the world everyday. I would also like to be an OB/GYN. It seems to me like it would be a very rewarding career.

Vaginas are no grosser than any other body part in the eyes of a physician. So, tell your friends to grow up. If this is really what your heart tells you is the right career, go for it. There is no more magical a moment than when you hold a brand new life in your hands.

I think it's a great field to go into. We need more OB/GYNs who are in the field for more than just money.

If you want to be an OB/GYN doctor or nurse, just go for it. Don't let anyone stop you from succeeding in something you feel is the right thing to do.

if you want to go to college, medical school, interships and residency to be an OBGYN, then by all means, do so. There is a shortage of qualified baby doctors in the country. But please, please, please!!! DO not tell the admission board that you can "just tell" that your friends are pregnant. Half the reason they hold admission interviews is to screen out the nutjobs. And physic pregnancy verification is definitly nutty.
Yes, most aspects of medicine are a little messy. But it washes off, and you will usually have gloves, gown, scrubs and even shoe covers on.
