Since time began, some idiot or another says the world is gonna end...and it never does. Don't spend one second worrying about it.

If you're talking about the Mayan calendar 2012 thing, here's the scoop:
The Mayan Long Count calendar DOES NOT end on 12-21-2012 or any other date being bandied about. Calendar (and time) don't end.
What is ending is the 12th Baktun (it's like our calendar going from 1999 to 2000 except a baktun is 396 years long).
On that SAME DAY, there is rare (once in 26,000 years) astronomical alignment between the sun and the Milky Way which to the Maya signified the rebirth of the sun and a new world age. Nothing destructive.
Of course, thinking a meteor is going to hit or that the poles will shift is more dramatic and thus more popular than the truth.

Mayan Prophesies as well as Edward Cayse say that in the year 2012 a stargate to access other worlds will be discovered on earth (Think Stargate w/Kurt Russel, James Spader or the Sci-Fi series w/MacGyver). This "stargate" will usher in a new breed of human beings and will begin the END OF THE WORLD... DUN DUN DUNNNNN.... I don't really think it's all going to happen... but that's all I know about the end of the world in the year 2012...

according to scientific(astronomical) studies our star the sun is on it's middle stage the sun is now 5 billion yrs old so at least 8 billions years or more before our star will explode and or at least 3~5 billion yrs before our sun become a red giant when that happens the sun will swallow mercury and venus turning earth to a hot soup of magma

but u never know..thats wat i heard.. that 2012 is gonna be the end of the world.
but omg..it sucks that if the world DOES end in 2012..im gonna graduate a year before that!!

no but the world will end in a couple billion years when our sun runs out of fuel and causes a supernova which will turn the earth into a smoldering ball of iron

Nobody knows. We'll just have to wait & see, but by the way that things are now, I wouldn't be surprised if the world ends sooner than that.

nah........just some junk!! they say if u multiplied 666 by 3 u'll get d year when d world will end. that was 1998. what about 6/6/06??? they said a virgin girl will be sacrificed 2 d "one"(messiah)<= dunno what spelling...... what happens, happens.............we can't change what has been done.....
