I am 27 weeks and 2 days and for the last 2 days I have been having cramps (maybe contractions). They are very irregular and come and go all day long. I just had one and it feels ike a pintching and then tightness. Are these cramps, braxton hicks, or contractions? What does this mean?

Please help me add more to my old bad mommy compilation. I got some great answers last time, but I'm hoping we can peg EVERYTHING that makes mommies BAD. Make sure we don't have re and three peats of the aforementioned evils bad mommies committ: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArptPFSh4ikVkPsE93YrvQnsy6IX?qid=20060909070414AAg3kNg

If you are a bad mommy, don't despair. I am too. I have failed to hold my baby for 23 straight hours, I didn't breastfeed until they were asking for it, I never "wore" the kids in slings (although I did use a snugli for a few months until my kids grew too large for it and my back), I don't own a Dr.Sears manual, and my son got his fair share of spankings. I'm also considering getting lil' mamma's ears pierced soon.

I just recently found out that I'm pregnant. My children are 14 and 16, are there any women who had another child after so many years and if so, was it hard starting over?? How was the experience???

I'm thinking since my daughters are older, I have more time to spend with the little one but someone told me the older I am the more tiring it is for you.

Im of age, and I have to ask my parents if I go out, and if they say no, and I go, Im kicked out of the casa for the rest of my life. I only make $100 a week. I can't really complain right now, but if they take my income tax for room and board (with all those rules), are they violating my civil rights?

s a bit of a boy and a bit of a bad egg, violent and aggressive not in a phsycotic way but since leaving school where i was a skinny lad I filled out became more confident and when confronted by people who were bullies in school, not just to me but who bullied others who had nothing to do with me on occasions I would give them a slap so to speak, for a while i helped other sort out issues thet had with bullies or people who stole from them never anything bad but my attitude was i could take on the world and always seemed to beat it, it all changed when my first son came along but as he gets older that attitude is creeping back into the way I teach him things It feels wrong but I dont want him being timid and shy like I was and almost going on the road to ruin when he grows up. I want him to be confident in himself but not arrogant and nasty like i became, what are peoples thoughts, how should i tackle this issue i have with myself?

My husband and I are thinking of bringing our baby along with us on holiday but that would involve a seven hour flight. I'm feeling nervous about the idea coz my baby is very active and I'm afraid that he may not take well to the flight especially since he likes to move about and on planes, this is restricted. Anyone has any tips?

On the pill. Bleeding started on the day expected. Very heavy the first day (much heavier then usual), however, very little bleeding day 2 and 3 so far. The blood is a bright red, not the norm for me. Going for a blood test this afternoon. HPT taken this morning was negative. (I'm 16 days past Ov.) Just looking for a little insight before the blood work. Thanks!

My Husband and I have been married for 5 years, and we have 2 beautiful little girls, but we've decided that 2 is definitely plenty for us (both physically & financially). Unfortunately, I have some major health issues and my Dr says if I get pregnant again, it could kill me. I can't have surgery to have my tubes tied because it's too risky with my health issues. My husband has volunteered to get a vasectomy, since it's a much less invasive procedure, anyway. He's called several doctors, but none will do it, because they say he's too young, or he doesn't have many kids. One doctor said, "Oh, he's only 25 with 2 kids. If he were 30 with 4 kids, it would be different." Since when do they get to decide how many kids we have? I know that they're worried about him coming back a trrying to sue them if he wants it reversed, but he has offered to sign any and every form saying that if he ever wants this reversed, he will pay for it. They will still not do it. Is this legal?

My wife and I decided rather early on in her pregnancy that we wanted our son to have very limited amounts of sugar before the age of three. We've read many articles and watched enough news reports on the subject that tell us that reducing sugar intake until after age three cuts the occurences of diatbetes later in life by as much as 93%.

He's ten months old now and starting table foods. The problem we're encountering is that our parents have chosen to ignore our wishes and have been giving him things like pudding. There's no way for us to know with certainty when they've done this unless they slip up and tell us. So, any suggestions on our next course of action.

Yes - children need discipline and clear boundaries. However -- If a child is doing something wrong and you haul off and hit him, you are doing so in a moment of anger. If you say "oh, I cool off first, then spank," I don't understand that either. If you can take the time to cool off, surely you can devise more appropriate ways to discipline your child. I know it can be difficult to get out of the habit - particularly if your parents spanked you. Indeed, I know some people have trouble because deciding not to spank means they have to deal with their parents saying "I spanked you, and you turned out okay." When what actually happened is that you learned from your parent that it's okay to inflict physical pain when a child does something wrong. Try to put your parents out of the picture - YOU are the adult now and your child is testing his/her boundaries. Why are you still resorting to hitting your child?

My daughter will cry and scream if she doesn't get her away when guest are in my home. She even starts talking baby talk and acts like she doesn't understand anything I say, but when it's just me and her. She talks clearly, she's well behaved, and she can even say her ABC's and count and do other things kids her age don't get a grasp of. But guest look at her like she's retarded because she doesn't act right in front of them. She doesn't do it with family and close friends only people who don't come around much. Am I just overreacting?

we are almost done with the current book, and I'm starting the search for the next one. I would like to read to them about the changes their bodies will start going through, so that they can understand that the process is normal, and what to expect. We have had many talks about it, but I fear I may leave some things out as my mother wasn't as thurough with me. Any suggestions?
