I'm not eligible for FMLA (Family Medica Leave Act) because my employer doesn't have 50 employees employed by them. Are there any other leave that I can be eligible for? What are the laws for maternity leave? Do I keep my insurance while I'm on maternity leave, do I still receive my benefits etc...

My toddler has outgrown her crib. I am now stuck trying to decide if I should take her beautiful crib bedding it to a child resale shop (we spent a lot of money on the crib set and all the matching room accessories) or hang on to it. It has so much sentimental value to it that I don't want to part with it, but I am faced with the reality that I can't be a pack rat and keep everything she has touched. I would like some creative ideas as to what I could do with the comforter, sheets, bumper etc. to create something worth keeping. I don't want to just have a whole bed set siting in the closet until she is 18. I thank you in advance for you time and suggestions! :)

What do you think is the reason for high school labels? Do you ever feel responsible for the label your child has recieved in school? If you don't have teens--do you think your parenting will effect the label your child recieves? Why or why not?

I don't not believe in stereotypes or labels but the fact still remains--and has always been--in high school teens are labeled as something.

Mother of five: Ages--19, 15, 11, 4, and 2.

My wife and I are hoping to conceive our first child soon.

How can I prep for being a dad?

I have a career, money, a paid off house, two safe newer vehicles, etc.

I am not talking about prepping like that though, I guess I mean more emotional preparation.

I want to be the best father I can be (my wife already says I am the best husband already lol).

Any advice?

I have a 2 month old and she spits up alot. she is gaining weight very nicely. The part that bothers me is that her dad had Pyloric stenosis. that is fequent vomiting requiering sergery. I am going talk to the dr about. But I don't know if she just spitts up alot or if it is something more. Some times is it really thick like mucus. There are times were it tries to come out her nose but it seems to get stuck or something because she will stiffen up and franticly move her arms and legs. When she does this I know she can not breath because she make no sound and her face turns all red. It scares the crap out of me. I emediatly grab her and pat her on the back but it still takes a while ( no longer then 30 sec) to be able to breath. Can that be normal?? It does not matter if she is sitting up or lying down. She is a boobie baby and I do give her gas dropps with every feeding (it seems to help a little). Any advice or reasurance would be great.

grabs 4 every thing extreamly fast
but he dont hold his bottle or put his passifer back in his mouth

My son is literally crying (and breaking my heart) about missing his Dad when he comes home every other weekend. Our son is dearly loved by both of us, despite the fact that we are not married.

I am considering proposing to my ex that our son sees him for 3 days a week, every week, since our son is not in school yet, and adjusting his pre-school of 3 days per week to stay in the middle of the week and stay consistent. I will also make a deal with him on child support (Because we already have a deal that allows HIM to pay less since, honestly, that keeps him less hostile at times). I know it's wrong, but my if his Dad is happier, I'll deal with it.

I am looking for honest opinions here. Thanks.

How bad were the stretch marks you got when you were pregnant? Where were they located? I know every woman and pregnancy is different but I would love to hear all of your answers. Also is there anything that can help with reducing the chance of stretch marks.

i am 34 1/2 weeks and having a lot of ripping pain and discharge went to hospital because i was really worried cause i've already had 2 c-secs and just had ovary removed in sept. of 2005 my doc said probably losing mucus plug little at a time and having ligament pain but didnt do anything besides listen to heart rate so i'm still worried he didnt do an exam or ultrasound can i demand this does anyone know???

Have any of you used this product and have you noticed an improvement? What about the generic version of this... if you have used that, have the results been what you've expected?
How young was your child when you first used it? My son has a scratch on his chin... and he's 14 months old. I've put a call into his pediatrician... but thought I'd check your comments out as well.
By the way... do you have to wait for the cut to scab before applying it? I have the generic version and the Instructions are not very specific.

Well this is my first birth and i am 5 months pregnant, and everywhere i go (in public and family members) people tell me NO WAY 5 MONTHS? YOUr SO BIg! Well i had an ultrasound at an early stage so i know the age of the baby. ANyone have any ideas why i could be so big.....keep in mind im pretty tiny ...now i weigh 125. He is an average reader, still prefers to be read to. I would like him to read more on his own though. We have a couple Magic Treehouse...What are some other good ones? I was doing heroin before, now i'm on methadone for 12 days, but me and my boyfriend want to have a babe. I just dont know how long it takes for a body to be ok after that. And if its ok to be pregnant and still be on the methadone. Let me know if its ok or i should wait? Thanks.
