My midwife is giving me a really hard time about gaining weight. I'm 26 weeks and have put on 9 kg (19.8lbs). But I'm eating healthily and all tests show baby is growing fine. She has told me to cut out bread, potatoes, pasta and even to be careful of grapes and bananas cos they are fattening fruits...! What do you think of this advice? She also suggested too much weight gain could lead to pre-eclampsia. Are they connected?

i turned 18 in july. i have a suspicion my ex raped me when we were just friends when i was 16 and he was 21 he got me drunk and gave me pills and i passed out to where i couldn't not be woken and i was swore the next morning, but had no proof and i thought he wouldnt do that he is to nice. then we started having intercourse right after i turned 17. then at 17 i got pregnant. during most of my pregnancy he was 22. i had our child at 17 about 3 weeks later i turned 18. then i had to take our child to the hospital his father, my ex, was watching him that night he confessed to have abused our 7 week old child at the time. my child had 15 broken bones, he was thrown in jail and his parents bailed him out till the trial. and i'm so mad i would like to get him in trouble for more things that he is quilty of, because he hurt my baby! In texas can a 22 year old man be prosicuted for being with a 17 year old female.

It looks as though he is trying to talk, but can't. He is a great little guy and is so friendly. I am not ruling out autism, but he doesn't seem to display the symptoms. Should we be concerned?

This is my first baby so i am bit scared about labor. I would like to know how soon should i ask for an epidural, i wont know how much i am dialted until i get to the hospital but just to get some idea how far along can you really tolerate the pain 4-5cm???? or more?? Also when water breaks do you have time to shower and then get to the hospital , i wouldnt wanna be all dirty when going into labor. Also hwo soon can you shower after labor, right away or do u have to wait. sorry lots of questions but this is my frist time
so i really need everyone to help me with this please. Anyone wanna add anything please feel free to do so, anything that i should know other than this. Thanx all :)

well its been almost 8 months since i gave birth to my beautiful daughter. But the problem is that i have been having really bad leg problems since right after my pregnancy. Right after my pregnancy it was so hard for me to walk. it was so hard to move my legs. but the doctors said it was because my body had to get back to normal from the stretching inside my body. Well, i guess meaning that when you give birth to a baby your body inside stretches. The doctors told me that the pain would go away, but it hasent. The pain is mostly in my right leg and sometimes its so hard for me to walk. I was gonna go to the doctor but i switched my medical insurance so i havent gone yet. I would like to get opinions. I had got an epidural but sometimes i think the pain came from being young when i gave birth to my daughter which i was 18 or that i didnt exercise birthing methods while i was pregnant. someone help me. serious answers please.

My husband and I are thinking we want another baby. My tubes are tied(almost three years ago) and I don't know how the did it. Do you still have eggs when the tubes are tied? But any way I heard that you can have your egg and his sperm put together and implanted in the uterus, is this true? Or can I just have them untied and do it the old fashion way?

my daughter is 6 yrs old and she will eat supper and start coughing (on purpose) and end up throwing up. when she was about 6 months old she used to stick her fingers down her throat until she puked. she quit doing it for awhile when i would take her finger out of her mouth, she quit doing it when she was probably about 3. and now it has started back up again or maybe she was hiding it from me. she is a very little girl and can't afford to lose much more weight from this and i don't know y she does it.
i have talked to her doctor about it in the past and she said some kids like the feeling of throwing up.
but i really cannot accept this as an answer especially when i know the long-term affects of her doing it.

now what i want to know is how can i make her stop?
or is this a deeper problem?

my son is 2 1/2 and i'm looking at different types of preshools for him (for next sept). i'm leaning towards montessori. anyone out there have any advice? do you think kids who are montessori trained get a head start in elementary school? anyone know about 'reggio' schools? how are they compared to montessori?

When i take my 5 month old baby over to my moms, there is always so much yelling and screaming becuase of my little brother,newphew. No matter how much i tell them not to scream around my baby they just dont listen. A friend told me that yelling, loud music tv, screaming can make a baby deaf by age 3. Will my little bro and nephews screaming affect my baby's hearing in the future?

My daughter is 25 months old and she has a lamb that is her comfort toy she HAS to have it to sleep. We actually have 6 of them just in case but it seems as though she is getting more and more attatched I'm not really concerned yet but I don't know when I should be.

Well I know I am supposed to have pain-I have a big baby in there! But, I'm having pain inside of my vagina and was wondering what this pain could be? I also have pain in my "bottom" and feel like i need to go to the restroom..But when I go, nothing happens!! I have the urge to PUSH! but, when i try, it hurts..

I was also wondering..When you dialate-can you feel it? I was thinking maybe that was the pain i was having(besides his head pushing down) but no one seems to be able to answer this question for me..please help! thanks!!
