Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 September 2006

When I went vegan in the spring, my four your old asked to do the same. Since eating a vegan diet can be very healthy, I agreed. He was awesome at first, eating everything I ate, but lately he has gotten very picky. He likes veggie burgers and veggie corn dogs and loves Mexican dishes with refried beans. But he won't touch hardly anything else!!! Even fruits and vegetables he always loved before. I have tried grounding him from TV, I have tried saving his dinner and giving it to him at breakfast, even taking away sweets. Nothing changes this. My husband is a fast food junkie and is using this as "a good reason" to make Andrew eat meat again... Is there anyway to make him eat before my husband wins the fight and teaches my son bad eating habits??

that babies seem obsessed with the bathroom? If I don't keep the door closed my ten month old daughter is always in the bathroom beside the toilet? Did any other parents experience this with the bathroom or another room/area?

I am 31 weeks and the doctor just told me that my cervix is softened, does this mean I will go into labour early?

Ok there are a few things bugging me. My 26 month old was sleeping through the night at 6 months old. now suddenly everything wakes him up! As it is I am 37 weeks pregnant and I have to lay with him until he falls asleep. Most of the time i just give into him and let him sleep with dad and I. I know he really should be in his own bed but when cars headlights come into his window or the neighbors upstairs turn on their water or anything it wakes him up! I even resorted to putting a TV in his room on low at night and it doesnt help. I cant sleep through him crying for me in the middle of the night. Another thing is (and I am told this is normal) you can tell him "no!" repeatedly, slap his hand, swat his butt, yet he still does what he is not supposed to be doing. Any suggestions? I will try almost anything at this point. my husband thinks I am babying him whitch i could be but I have another one coming and I dont know how I will cope. Please help!

I am just a month along, but i fell nasiated all the time.
morning noon and night. also like i am always hungry.

i have not thrown up yet, and i hope i don't .
Soda crackers do not help.

do you have any remedies.

I started potty training on saturday and my daughter (25 months) has only peed on the potty once on saturday and sunday she was put on every 15 minutes monday and tuesday she was put on the potty every 20 minutes and today every 25. She sits on the potty for at least 2 minutes sometimes she'll stay on the potty for almost 10 minutes. She is only peeing about 4 times a day but we keep missing it. Yesterday she pee'd in her panties and said ohoh so some progress I guess. I just feel like its going no where.

I work with and am good friends with the female. At work, we sit side by side. They have been trying for a while. My husband and I just recently started trying and already have results. I asked her how she would like me to handle it if we did become pregnant and she said she would want me to handle it the same way I do with everything else with her. However, when she talks about other friends that are pregnant it is a stressful and troublesome issue for her.

I'm 5 months pregnant and currently have a very active 13 month old. I will be nursing my baby again... for at least 12 months... and know it will be somewhat difficult with an active toddler. I'm considering buying/making a sling/carrier/wrap. I don't think I want to use those carriers like the hip hammock, etc... since I've tried a few and they're just not comfortable. I'm pretty thin.. and the straps dig into my bones. I need a carrier that will work very well especially for nursing. I'd like to hear from mothers who have actually used one (please no advice from friends of friends... you can't possibly know about their ease of use or comfort unless you've had one strapped to you for months on end).
Money is no object as I'm willing to pay for mine & baby's comfort... though I would prefer to keep it low. I'm very capable of making one... just want to know which one's the best. Thanks!

I am 2 months pregnant and alls I want to do is sleep. I don't have energy to do anything, my husband is in the Navy and gone unitl Sunday morning, I can't get up to clean or even make food. Should I be this tired and what can I do to get some more energy. I have been sleeping all day and night. Please help.

I am 4-7 days late for my period. I have taken several pregnancy tests and they are all negative. The only symptom I have is tender swollen breasts. I had light cramping in one side the other day. I am usually always on time, could I still be pregnant? Has anyone had a similar experience?

This whole summer me and him been cool like two peas in a pod. Now school started he dont want to talk to me at all. When I went to his first football game he talked me and hugged me. The 2nd game he said somthing to me that i couldn't understood and smiled. and today at school i had my arm around another boy and he looked at me funny and walkwalked off. I was like whats going? I doubt he is jealouus though...Why is acting like that?

How often do newborns cry i am wondering cause i am 6 months pregnant and had too move out of my dorm. My ex.bf and babys father helped me get a plave with his buddy matt.I had to sign a contract for a year though .It is two bedroom apartment ajoined with a curtain no doors only on the bathroom small kitchen and living room so its really open. I am going to buy a door but not sure it will help. i signed contract yesterday.The entire area is mostly student rented and noisy i want to know if it will effect a newborn with all that noise?

My 2 yr old boy had a party last weekend , at a park & a family friend dressed as a clown to entertain the kids, it was most family & some friends he had fun and so as the rest of us ..... My brother-in -law wife thinks parties it's just a way to spend money with no need she has 2 kids 4 & 2 I she had never made a birthday party ..She says that with the money she spends she can buy toys & clothes for the kids.... In a way it migth be true but I think kids do enjoy parties , the games , cake , candy bags & the FUN & happines they express & of course they love to open the presents., besides I think if we can afford at lest a small party at a pizza place or at home to celebrate a birthday will not affect the budget at home It will fun and priceless ....How many of you think parties it just a waste of money that can be used for other things???? AND who thinks if you can afford it , at least a small b-day party to do it???? for the happines & fun of the kids....

My parents have a "Grandparents Wall" in their living room. Each of the grandchildren have an 8x10 picture up. To let them know that I was pregnant, I gave them a picture frame with a note in it that said "to be replaced by actual photo during or after April 2007. I was sick in the beginning of my pregnancy w/ a bad cold. I got over it and haven't been sick since. Until now. I'm getting that scratchy feeling in my throat that I usually get right before I'm gonna get a cold. I could drink orange juice but that hasn't been my best friend during the pregnancy so I would just throw it up annyway. I'll be 36wks in 2 days (even though u/s is giving a due date of oct 1st..which is in like 2 wks).. so my question is ... will being sick affect my labor in anyway?

I am in 8th grade and today was the worst day of my life, There were all kind of rumors started about me, This one boy YELLED at me for liking another boy, IT WAS HORRIABLE!!!!
