Not at all. Our cervixes soften at different rates. Your cervix may be a bit soft but no where near effacing (thinning) or dilating (opening). I had a hard posterior(facing back) cervix and a baby in my arms 4 hours later. My friend and birth colleague had a 4 cms dilated, soft cervix for 3 weeks. It varies from person to person.
Remember that full term is 37-42 weeks. In reality you only have 6 weeks to go.
If you ever feel concerned, notice show or alot of pressure with contractions, definitely check it out. But in the mean time, sit back and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Take care :)

No. I don't mean to put a damper on things but it doesn't mean anything.
I am 38 weeks and two weeks ago dr. said I was dialated to 2 and 70% thinned out, last week I was at 3 and this week I am at 5. And still no baby.
You can walk around like that until your actual due date.

Did he say softened or thinned out? If it is thinning out there is a higher chance of delivering early.
