They measure your LH surge, but do not tell you the "exact" day u ovulate...only an approximation. It is also possible to get a + ovulation predictor and still not ovulate..I just found this part out from my OB/GYN. The best way to tell if and when you ovulate is to chart your Basal Body Temp each morning before you get up(same time each day). There is a wonderful site that I use...It charts everything for you, keeps track of your temps, Cervical Mucous, signs...etc. Oh, did I mention it is free too? It is called Fertilityfriend.com. Home pregnancy tests are a bit different, they measure the level of HCG.

They are similar to a home preg test, you pee over the stick. It indicates when you have an LH (hormone) surge in your urine and therefore predicting that you are about to ovulate. Which is the best time to conceive. Other information I have researched suggests charting your BBT each day, but I found mine was all over the place and not really indicating that I was about to ovulate (by increasing).

they predict body temp n hormone change 4 when ur egg is released usually the first day of ur period this info helps calculate when in ur cycle u r most likely to conceive usually round 10 to 14 days of 28 day cycle or roughly middle of personal cycle if u r tryin for a baby the best advice is to stop tryin n it happens as u r not stressed n focusing on it too much

If your talking about the sticks you pee on. Then no, they measure the amount of hormones in your body. If your using a fertility monitor, that measures the hormone estrogen & then your LH levels (the levels that rise when you are about to ovulate).
