It might be related to allergies, but I would suggest that you take her to a doctor immediately!

This is a very common problem not just with children but grown ups as well, a punch, picking, weather, allergies and some types of illness contribute to stuffy noses which causes some small veins inside your nostril to brake and cause bleeding. Sometimes a lack of calcium can be the cause. Try keeping the nose moist specially at night time (humidifier is good). Also rub "a small" amount of petroleum jelly around the inside of the nostril, that will keep it moist. Try going into the site www.webmd.com. to learn more about it and how to handle the bleeding (don't let her tilt her head back) pressing the outside of the nostril for a few minutes should stop it. But just to make sure you should always let the Physician know.

when I was young I used to get nose bleeds all the time. usually when I was too hot, they always occured during the summer months when the air is dry. I would recommend putting a cool mist humidifier in her room at night, this will keep the air moist. This helped a great deal with me when I was young, after I started sleeping with the cool mist my nose bleeds stopped at night. hope this helps. I'm 22 now and the only time I get nose bleeds is when I'm outside in the heat of summer. the dry air really hurts the nose.

I don't know why, there are a lot of reasons kids get bloody noses. Try running a cool mist humidifyer in her room. The heat doesn't cause bloody noses. It may be allergies, it may be she has a cold, it may be a sinus infection or an ear infection. You might call a "nurse line" and ask.

My brother used to have nosebleeds all the time. The doctor said it could be caused by changes in pressure- like the weather or an airplane. But probably it is dry air. And a doctor would be a good idea.

There may not be enough moisture in the air of your home. Some kids are more susceptible to nosebleeds than others. Have the doctor check her nose during your next appointment to make sure there aren's any visible problems.

Extremely dry air could irritate her sinus passages and cause a bloody nose. So could a sinus infection, or maybe she fell down and bumped it. Does she get out of bed in the middle of the night?

Good answers on moisture in the room as well as possible alergies..my 14 yr old daughter still gets them, and at first it seems to be alarming or at best worrisome, but usually it is a minor thing ....still a hassle for all concerned.

When I was a kid I'd get nose bleeds because it was too dry in my house. If it continues maybe use a humidifier, or put a little cream inside her nose.
