Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 September 2006

I went to the hospital at 36 weeks in false labor. That was the last time that an internal exam was done. I was 1 cm and 25% effaced. Since then, I have had 4 prenatal appointments. I am 39 weeks and 5 days. Is it normal to not have your cervix checked at all this late? This is my second child but I delivered at 36 weeks for my first.

Here is a breif history. I have been off the pill since June or a bit earlier. I have PCOS(poly cyst syndr). I had period in July but nothing in August. I, ve been feeling pregnant since first days in august with all symptoms. I have done 2 pregnancy test @home and both negative (last on on Friday sept 8). Made an appointment with dr which is tomorrow. But on weekend got some bleeding. thought it would stop and it didn;t. it was kinda light first with a bit of cloth. today on wed, I am heavily bleeding. Went to bathroom and thought is saw something strange. Don't know if i had a misscarriage. Have been having painful cramps all morning and i might be wrong and seen the toilet paper instead of an actual tissue but don't think so. The size was about in total 2 inches, one side seemed a bit round and the other end was thin and about 1.5 cm wide it was whitish color but not clear color. I can't wait until tomorrow! maybe I was never pregnant but I'm sure I was. help?

Period pain is really annoying and i get it bad, it hurts to walk sometimes...please please please if anyone knows good ways appart from paracetamol (which iv taken already) and hot water bottles (which right now aren't working) will you tell me !

Okay, long story Short;

I'm a 26 year old Agnostic. I work with Ex-Offenders and substance misuser's.

My Biological Mother tried to have me aborted 2 months into her pregnancy.

My Grand Mother managed to stop "mother" from aborting me by keeping her under lock and key until I was born.

Even though I would have been just a "bunch of cells" at the time, how is my life now not more important than 9 months of disruption to some one else's life?

It seems to me that all pro abortionists are terribly short sighted, If you had a time machine would you go back and assist my Mother in terminating my life? Philosophically this makes no sense to me whatsoever. Please clarify.

Also, is there a philosophy section in answers? I wanted to post this there but couldn't find it :-)

okay c if you can follow along... miscarried on 7-20-06 went to er 2 1/2 wks later no hormones detected.. had sex on 8-13-06 period came on 8-20-06 went to the doctor on 8-24-06 preg. test neg. (urine). having preg. symptoms went to doctor on 9-11-06 preg. test done showed faint positive line (urine) did blood test still waiting on results.. went 2day had preg. test done came back neg. I don't know what to do with my son.He is 6 years old.When he does something bad,I spank him(sometimes harder).But while I beat him,he laughs!He smiles and laughs and tells me this is the most ridiculous way of punishment he has ever seen.I hit him harder and I'm even afraid not to harm him(to break a bone or something) but it seems he doesn't make any notice of beating.What should I do?

I had a friend that was violently sick 3 weeks after becoming pregnant, I also had a friend who had no symptoms and didn't know she was pregnant for 3 months.

I've seen some women who look like models and have 3 kids. Does that mean they had surgery immediately following the births? Do they workout really hard?

I've been introducing solids to my 9 1/2 month old for the past 3 months (with the 3 day allergy rule it takes FOREVER to try things!!!) and I'm constantly wondering what order things should come in and whether I've missed anything major.

Is there a good chart (or book) available (online or otherwise) suggesting foods from different food groups?

If I could just cross things off a list as we'd tried them that would be great and I wouldn't lie awake nights trying to think of what we should be trying next!!! (Can you tell I'm a first time mommy?)

We saw 2 speach patholigests today & my son was diagnosed w/ inabilty to speak. He says 2 words & says vowel noises alot. I am looking for info online or books to purchase on this subject but can not come up w/ anything. All I can find is adult disorders that can cause inabilty or child selective inabilty. I need help, I am going nuts! He will be starting special needs classes in 5 weeks but I need info now so I can prepare myself. My family, friends and co-workers joke that I got off easy with my unplanned c-section 9 months ago and that they're the celebrity's birth method of choice because of the tummy tuck effect. Well I'm sure not tucked!!!

I lost all my weight and 10 lbs more by 9 months postpartum while nursing. (Of course I had extra weight kicking around before I got pregnant and and then I got gestational diabetes, was monitored like crazy and only put on 18 pounds during my pregnancy.)

The weight must have left my arms or legs or something else though because I'm lighter than I was, but my tummy sure doesn't look the same at all!!

I'm still nursing (if that's what you can call a busy 9 month old eating for like 2 minutes a side 4-5 times a day) and the weightloss has tapered off now.

I have been trying for 5 years. I know that I need to lose weight. I did lose a few pounds. I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I had been taking Metformin.

sometimes I feel what resembles a heartbeat in my lower abdomen, but it's not my pulse or the pulse of my baby as it's slower (approximately 1 every 2/3 seconds), it's an even rhythem and semi strong which goes on for a few minutes than disapears.
