I heard on the radio that they opt. for the C-Section and deliver the baby during the 8th month of pregnancy to avoid the 9th month stretch marks? Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, and Anna Nicole all had C-Sections in the past few months. I'm not sure about Katie Holmes.

Unnecessary c-sections are epidemic in this country. For some reason women have handed over control of their bodies to doctors.
As for 'stretching'... your body was meant to stretch for that purpose and the real stress on muscles, etc. comes from carrying the baby in the first place.
Angelina Jolie called her birth the most terrifying experience she'd ever had-- so I guess you could say she wussed out. Who the hell goes to Namibia for childbirth anyway?
I would estimate celebrities have a pretty tight schedule and have a lot of people depending on them for their livelihoods, so they choose to make the timing their choice.

Britney Spears had c-sections with both her kids by choice, she didnt want to go through the pain her mom went through having her. That is just pathetic!!!!!

Brittney has herpes. You can not have a normal vag birth if you currently have an outbreak of herpes. So that is why she had her first c section. The second one is because women who have c sections before usually have c sections from now on. It is rare to see a VBAC these days. Too much trouble.

Didn't you know that the majority of women who give birth, in the United States, have a Cesarean? It was on Yahoo! news once as a statistic.

Maybe they are afraid that having a baby vaginally will cause their hips to be a little wider after the baby comes. You wouldn't think they'd want the scar, but celebrities are a little bit crazy anyway.

I don't know what people are talking about when they say 'less pain'. You are actually in more pain after the c section, and you are limited to what you can do until you are healed. They probably don't want to stretch their vagina out.

in britneys case it was a repeat c-section she had one last year that was an emergency due to high blood pressure and a breech baby, the rest i dont know. i think its a matter of convience

I think because they are worried about keeping their body so they can return to movies sooner. Or to lessen pain perhaps. I hear the number of c-sections is rising these days

I was wondering that to. When I had my c scetion I was in a lot of pain after words for a long time. So I dont know what to say, hope you find your answer soon!
