My family, friends and co-workers joke that I got off easy with my unplanned c-section 9 months ago and that they're the celebrity's birth method of choice because of the tummy tuck effect. Well I'm sure not tucked!!!
I lost all my weight and 10 lbs more by 9 months postpartum while nursing. (Of course I had extra weight kicking around before I got pregnant and and then I got gestational diabetes, was monitored like crazy and only put on 18 pounds during my pregnancy.)
The weight must have left my arms or legs or something else though because I'm lighter than I was, but my tummy sure doesn't look the same at all!!
I'm still nursing (if that's what you can call a busy 9 month old eating for like 2 minutes a side 4-5 times a day) and the weightloss has tapered off now.

Also, my tummy still feels numb around the incision. Does that ever go away?

you are not going to have the same stomach you had before. They cut through your stomach muscles and they will just not heal the same as it was before. It is not the same surgery as a "tummy tuck." Nursing does help you lose that extra baby weight it's one of those mommy secrets and a extra reason you should nurse. With the numbness around the scar its kind of a case by case thing i think as for myself, 4 years later i still havent regained all the feeling back, but you have to think they did cut nerve endings.

I had c-section for my son he's now 17 months old. I lost all the weight and even more (I'm not complaining). The incision spot still feels a bit numb although the scar is barely visible. My tummy is not hanging or anything like that. I'd say I am the size when I was 20 years old.

I had a C-section 3 months ago and my tummy has a "sag" to it even though I've lost all my baby weight and 5lbs extra. I think with toning exercises you can help with it. I dont know if it will ever be the "same" as it was before but I'm working out and trying to get rid of it the best I can.
As for the incision, I've known women who say it took up to a year before theirs didn't hurt or feel numb.
wouldn't it be nice to have a tummy tuck though. *sigh*

I had a c-section 12 years ago and then when I had my reversal in Nov. 05 I STILL do not have a real droop! I had a little pouch yes and I am a small person I weighted 107 before this pregnancy. You can work out after the fact and LOOSE MOST of it yet it will NEVER be as tight as you was because the muscles was cut. The numbness WILL go away!

I wll say yes and about the same like you, unplanned c-section, (was pushing for 3 hours), baby is almost 9 month old, and still nursing.
I gained about 33lbs during pregnacy, and lost all of them and 3lbs more, has been doing cruchies 3-4 times a week while she takes a nap, but still can grab the fat around my tummy, even though I am lighter than before( now 113lb).

If you had a vertical incision, the "droop" will remain no matter how much weight you lose because the muscles were cut...whereas with a horizontal incision, you can do toning exercises to tighten up. The numb sensation at the incision site eventually goes away

you can thank your little one for the droopy tummy.. join the club, hon!!
my obgyn told me the only way to get rid of the extra skin is a tummy tuck..
the celebs get whatever they want.. plus they have personal trainer and motivators.. the best money can buy.. Us normal folks gotta tough thru it.. Good luck.. and you are not alone!!!

Cold showers: They not only burn 500 extra calories a day, studies from The New Britain Journal of Medicine cite that this icy water also activates ‘brown fat’ – the great type of body fat of which creates body heat, increases metabolic process and burns off naughty whitened fat.

Time your ingesting and exercise appropriately. Never eat when you work out, and wait 30 to 60 minutes after training to make certain you catch your metabolism with its highest.
