Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 September 2006

My husband isn't ready for a baby, so naturally, I'm going to wait until he feels better. He thinks it might be two years out (I'm 20, so I suppose I can wait).

But I can't stop thinking about it, either. What can I do to make this wait easier? Books, classes, focus groups, anything?

Who can relate to an 'urge' to get pregnant. My husband doesn't understand it. I guess it's just a 'woman thing'.

I'm having the hardest time getting a burp out of my newborn. She doesn't seem to be uncomfortable at all...but I barely ever hear/feel a burp come out of her. Could someone give me some tried and true burping techniques?

P.S. She is being fed breastmilk from a bottle.

I am 5 months pregnant and need to go to the denist. I thought I heard one time about getting a tooth pulled you shouldnt go when pregnant(orsomething.I assume maybe the novacane or something I dont know).Can you go to the denist when pregnant?

I was due for my period yesterday, and for about 2 weeks I have been experiencing nausea associated with heartburn, and headaches. My breasts feel fuller, and heavier, they are sore and sensitive. I have been gaining a little weight. This will be my 2nd pregnancy if I am pregnant. I am having weird food cravings. And I feel pregnant. I go to the bathroom probably about 10-20 times a day, and have been waking up at night too. I woke up this morning at around 5 with severe heartburn. Which all this is not normal for me. My breasts never get sore around the time of my period, and I don't cramp. I've been experiencing some mild cramping and wandering if that could be implantation bleeding. And sometimes I feel like there's something there in my stomach. I already have 1 child who will be 2 in December. And the things I'm feeling now feel a-lot like when I was pregnant before. There's only a couple things different. Could my body be playing tricks on me? Or am I really pregnant? Please help

I have a beautiful seven-day-old baby girl who is a VERY good baby. The only time she cries is when we give her a bath. She doesn't tell us when her diaper is wet and when she's hungry, she just gives off little grunts...but doesn't cry. I know I should count my blessings, but as a first-time mommy, I want to know if this is something to be concerned about.

I took a clearblue easy early response digital this morning and its clearly said "pregnant." I wasn't convinced so I bought a First Response and there is NO indication of a postive anywhere on the test strip......what should I do? My husband is over the moon with excited, we have three daughters and are trying for a boy, or whatever we're given :) But I don't feel pregnant, I actually feel like I'm going to start my period....so now I'm REALLY confused!

For example, one day in my moms room i farted and it smelt so bad but i just knew something that smelt that bad didnt come from me. but it did and i cleared the room out!
Another, 1am i got up out of bed and went to the bathroom cause i felt like i had gas and i needed to burp. so i went to burp while over the sink and all my dinner i ate at 5pm came up. i was embarrased and in shock cause i really thought i had to just burp and my mom had to clean it cause i became overwhelmed and in shock.

I've used desitin, vaseline, etc. I even try to let his bottom air out for a few hours during the day. I was watching THE VIEW yesterday and Rosie O'Donnell actually said her doctor advised her to use her dog's saliva to treat it...but i'm not too sure about that one!

between black people and white people? My daughter is 5 and right now she plays with, and talks to, the black kids at school, but I don't want to wait too long to tell her she can't play with them. I don't want her to get attached to black friends just to have to give them up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a racist man, but we live in the south and people around here don't do that and I don't want my daughter having any trouble for mixing.

I HAVE BIN TRYING TTC FOR 3 MONTHS NOW. Went to the doctor all is fine i even on the prenatal vtms for about one month now, never took any birth control in my life all natural. But now that i'm trying for a sibling with my hubby it has bin a little hard i think i have missed last month my ov day but any way, i would like to know for u women who ovulate , do see ue white or clear looking mucus if that what u want to call it mucus.) But last night we made love ,for the first time i did what some of u have recomende me to do . i put my legs up for a couple of minutes. But my question is today wheni went to the bathroom i seen some white clear suff come out when i finishe d peeing. I just want to know if that is the sperm coming down. I DID not get up after sex last night iwent to sleep and just wiped my kitty clean only on the otside not inside. I just want to know if any one has truly exp this before. and if u have gottin preganat on a none ov day. Evey lilttle story of ur s helps.

My son is 7 months old...and is not ready for any chewing food at all...i tried the gerber puffs the other day and he almost choked. I want to know if this is a typical schedule in a 7 month old boy...in the morning...he has 8 ounces of formula..then infant cereal mixed with formula or a jar of baby food cereal before his nap...when awakes from nap...8 ounces bottle and then a baby dinner with veggies a while later...a catnap of an hour and then another 8 ounce bottle before bed.

I started my period a couple weeks ago and i had unprotected sex and about 4 days ago i had unprotected sex again and he busted inside of me.. I know its way to soon to take a pregnancy test considering i dont start my next period until next month..! A child has a very short attention span, especially under age 6. Say the child continually is calling you a biatch, slapping playmates, refusing to do what you ask, telling you to shut up...you know, the normal stuff MOST people think is so cute these days that we used to get our behinds tore up for back in the day.

If a kid is doing all of the above, worse, or similar actions, what will a time out, especially one based on the minute by age, do? A 6 minute time out for unacceptable behavior is supposed to do what? Make your kid think you are a joke and just get up from time out and do something else bad? Or, likely, the same thing?

I don't think spanking is the magic solution either, although it has it's place. My son doesn't talk back to me anymore because #1, I whooped his butt, and #2, he spent 2 weeks cleaning my room, folding laundry, mopping floors, and manually pulling weeds since he wanted to be grown, instead of playing outdoors with his friends. All that at age 5.

I am 24 weeks pregnant and I went to the dr. earlier in the week and she wants me to have another ultrasound done because she thinks that I am measuring too big.. at 20 weeks when I had my first ultrasound done he was just right on target 12oz. Now she says that I am too big. I was just wondering if anyone has been through this and what the outcome was.. I am not really worried my first child was 8lbs 6oz. and I read somewhere that boys tend to be around 6-8 oz bigger.

I have a 17 month old who still takes a bottle at night time. He has GERD Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease, and The Dr. wants him to eat 4 times a day, with 4 hours between each meal, and nothing to eat or drink in between except a little water, I have to take his bottle away tonight and I don't know how I am gonna get him to sleep. I am not overweight but having to wear maternity wear, it's embrassesing as I still have not had a scan. I phone the doctor and midwife and they say if you are sure of your last period it's ok and not to worry. I am watching my weight and walking 4 miles a day. I cannot get into ANY of my pre pregnancy clothes and im getting bigger by the day. I do not have water retention Has this happened to anyone before? It's really getting me down as everyone say you should not be showing I feel like a freak!
