They actually recommend going while you're pregnant. Certain pregnancy related issues can be detected earlier by a dentist than an OB. Something about the change in your teeth/enamel.

Be sure to let the dentist know you are pregnant though -they may change some of the treatment to make it safer for the baby.

You can and should go to the dentist while pregnant...and now, before you get really big, is a great time. Once you are bigger it will be uncomfortable to be laying back reclined while they do the work. If they give you an X-ray they will need to cover your torso with a lead blanket, and if they give you any meds they might call your OB to find out what kind he wants you to have. It's so important to have healthy teeth while pregnant because you are a good candidate for pregnancy gingivitis. I got it with my first baby but not with my second. With my first I had a cavity, and they called my OB to see what kind of pain killer they could use while filling the cavity. Most importantly dental problems can start a chain reaction in your body that can lead to pre-term labor. So, definitely go to the dentist.

confident I completely agree, call your healthcare professional. i could virtually guess they're going to say NO to the vicodin. relating to the main well known medicine after a definite factor on your being pregnant is darvocet. while i replaced into replaced into 4 months pregnant with my son I had such undesirable soreness and had to have a know-how the enamel pulled and the roots have been twisted, and so on... i presumed i replaced into going to die with the soreness i replaced into experiencing, however the dentist ought to no longer even provide me some thing stable to numb me. I had a newborn equivalent. Double examine consisting of your healthcare professional. they should have given you a 24 hour variety for emergency and this could qualify. interior the propose time regularly occurring Tylenol could be okay to take, possibly that ought to take the sting off somewhat. stable luck

You can go for general routine cleanings (no x-rays), but I think they prefer to hold off on other dental work if needed. I had a cavity and they waited to make my appt. until after I had my baby.

you should go, it is completely safe, and your teeth can tell alot about your pregnancy. As long as you tell your dentist he will be safe and make safe decisions for you, they always double sheild me for xrays when I am pregnant.
