I am not overweight but having to wear maternity wear, it's embrassesing as I still have not had a scan. I phone the doctor and midwife and they say if you are sure of your last period it's ok and not to worry. I am watching my weight and walking 4 miles a day. I cannot get into ANY of my pre pregnancy clothes and im getting bigger by the day. I do not have water retention Has this happened to anyone before? It's really getting me down as everyone say you should not be showing I feel like a freak!

Wait to see an ultra sound! I don't follow when the last period was because I was pregnant and had my period during the first 2 months of my pregnancy. The ultra sound should be able to determine the size of the baby and if it is one or two babies! Congratulations and relax! Don't be embarrassed of your pregnancy be happy! Smile that you have been blessed!

Hi, I'm 23 weeks pregnant and have the same thing as you when I was 8/9 weeks. i actually lost weight in the first trimester but had to wear matnerity trousers because my bump was so big, so don't worry too much about it - stress isn't good for the baby. I know a lot of people have put it down to bloating and they are 100% right! Hope this helps!

each body is different, i wouldnt worry about it. You can request and ultrasound if you think you might have had a "period" while pregnant, that way they can measure the baby and see if its more advanced than an 8 week baby should be.

or maybe its twins.

Or, if this is your second pregnancy you can certainly fill out much quicker than normal.

Either way, when you go in for your prenatal scan you can address all these issues with your midwife :)

you're not a freak, its okay.

Maybe twins ? I was showing at 9 weeks with my 3rd baby i just thought it was because of muscle damage due to my previous pregnancies , you dont say if its ur 1st baby or not and what height u are etc ... All the same im sure you have nothing to worry about ..

You're just bloated and your body is adjusting to the change of being pregnant, the bloating will subside though you may not be able to go back to your regular clothes again.

It's all just part of being pregnant, good luck and I hope you have a happy and healthy nine months!

I was like this with my first baby. I couldn't believe my boobs were mine! My daughter came into the world a rather hefty 11 pounds. So perhaps you are having a big baby or maybe twins.

Good luck!

Sounds like the typical pregnancy bloating. I couldn't fit into my pre-pregnancy pants at 7 weeks.

If this is your second baby then you will show a lot sooner than the first. Make sure you eat healthy, exercise and keep your doctor appointments.
