My husband has a 6 year old daughter whom we see every other weekend. The problem is that she eats nothing but chicken nuggets and fries. She won't eat anything else....period. Let me restate that for emphasis........she won't eat anything but chicken nuggets and fries. Oh, I forgot...she will eat sweets and chips. She won't even try anything else. And my husband feels that because he only sees her every other weekend that there's no point in trying to get her to eat better because he feels he can't make much of an impact. He says that his ex-wife is also an extremely picky eater. She pretty much only ate chicken as well when they were married. I hate to see this child eating so poorly, but what can I do? She's only 6 and I bet she already has elevated cholesterol levels. Did I mention that her stomach hurts all the time? Mine would too if I consumed that much junk. HELP!!

My daughter is 2 1/2. We were in the toy isles looking for a gift for my nephew. I went into a different isle and I assumed she stayed with her father. He later told me that he saw her following me when I left. So, he thought she was with me. I never saw her in the isle I went to. It took us about 5 min to even relaize she was missing! We were running around the store like crazy people. We finally found her standing with a women who also had a child. I felt like a complete moron. After all the hype died down, I started thinking "I wonder if those people in the store thought I was a bad parent?" What do you think?

The past few nights, I haven't slept at all. The night before last, I maybe slept a combined 2 hours throughout the entire night, and last night, i never even fell asleep. I know having trouble sleeping during pregnancy is normal, esp the farther along you are. I've checked out ideas in books, and some seem like they would work, but I wondering if anyone could give me some tips of their own that have helped them? It's not the baby kicking, leg cramps, or anything like that that is keeping me awake. I just can't fall asleep at night. I really appreciate any advice i can get. Thanks!

I'm 5 months and am just now beginning to feel that the baby is behind my belly button. I'm not thin, so its hard to judge by my bump since I had a bump before! My question is, when you knew the baby was that big, did you feel numb behind your belly button? Like a weird feeling behind it? I can't remember this sensation wit my first!

is it possible to get your period during pregnancy i had a pregancy test that showed positive but you had to hold it on an angel to see the second line...but it was there and i have gotten my period (about 5 days late) i still have some syptoms of pregnany...what do i do now...i heard you can get your period while pregnant....help please

my son just started grade one he's a very picky eater i put sandwiches and good snacks for lunch and it all comes back he does'nt eat nothing all day i'm very concerned about him i don't know what to do i ask why and he says he doen't want to eat he has no appetite at all and good tips would really help?

Dr didn't seem concerned. Has anyone elses Dear Child eaten this much at this age? He weighed 14lbs 11oz and was 24 1/4 inches long on monday and he was born at 7lbs 6oz and 20 1/2 inches long on June 27th. The nurse said I should start him on cereal, but I thought it was too soon to do that.

How long did it take until the baby came? What was it like when you checked into the hospital? Please tell me any info. I'm 39 weeks and my doctor told me to check into the hospital TOMMAROW and she will try to induce me. What do I expect? I know I should have asked her more questions but I was in shock when she told me and excited so I couldn't really think at the time, she just told me today. Any personal experiences would help! Anything that would help to ease my curiosity would be GREATLY Appreciated! If your interested in points I will be picking the best answer for an extra 10 points today.

I am pregnant (c-sec on the 25th) and we are moving temporarily during an addition on our home. After reading about potty training I learned that it is better to wait until big events like a new home and a new baby are passed to start potty training. I just feel like I am putting it off too long. He has a potty and peed twice in it but he stopped and he only goes and sits on it for fun. I haven't pushed him or put him in regular undies to make him feel forced and I was wondering if it's ok that I am taking so long. What do you think and when did you start your potty training AND what age did it end?

I don't want to end up spending hundreds of dollars for it; but I want something that will help me with my let-down. My last baby I had to stop breastfeeding because my milk just didn't come the way I wanted to, my family was getting frustrated with me and I was getting actully no support with it at all.

You have a son(Alex) age 5 and a daughter(Lilly) age 2.Imagine Alex has hit Lilly.What would you do?Spank him?Is this the best you can do?
When you hit the child,he thinks like this:
1."Older can hit younger.When I am older,I'll hit the others"(which is not very good for your grandchildren,right?).
2."People beat the others when they are angry.When I get angry,I'll hit the others."(I start tomorrow in kindergarten).
3."I'm a bad child and I'll never be better and people will never like me."(do you want your son to grow up thinking like this?)
4."I have to be more careful so mom/dad won't see me what am I doing"(I'll be good while I'm looked after).
Did you see "I won't hit my sister anymore"?Of course not!If the child had to be taught not to hit,that is rediculous way to teach him.What do you want to do when someone hurts you?How do you react when someone tries to control you?How do you feel when someone disappoints you?Do you think this approach will make you behave better?
