Babies know there mommy's right from the beginning. They know your voice and they know your heartbeat...as they should...they heard both for 9 months!
My son is 3 months old and it is very clear that he likes his mommy the best. Which is ok by me!

even if seperated at birth the child would know the sound of his mothers voice. Especially after the birth the baby knows your voice, scent, and touch..
no doubt your daughter knows her mommy

a newborn knows who his/her mother is but can very quickly forget
by four months old, if you are the primary care-giver for this child, then she has definitely bonded with you. she does not know you are mommy because this concept is far beyond her ability. ;she knows you are the source of comfort and relief and that is all she needs to know for now
put her first in your life, and you will be first in your child's

Of course she can. She's known you before she was born. It was your voice she heard all the time and your heartbeat that comforted her. She knows you're mommy. Enjoy your bundle of joy!

oh yes!!!! I use to wonder the something with my first baby.. since my mother in law helped me out when she was a new born.. i use to wonder is she would get us confused.. but clearly that could never happen!!! babies just know who their mommy is.. they know their scent and voice. its pretty cool.

Yes, even at four months a baby knows who its mother is. The mother provides food, love. care, clean diapers, attention, etc. Also, the baby knows your smell, your skin, your voice and they can see you!
