I took a clearblue easy early response digital this morning and its clearly said "pregnant." I wasn't convinced so I bought a First Response and there is NO indication of a postive anywhere on the test strip......what should I do? My husband is over the moon with excited, we have three daughters and are trying for a boy, or whatever we're given :) But I don't feel pregnant, I actually feel like I'm going to start my period....so now I'm REALLY confused!

Okay I've done research and found out that while false positives are rare they do happen. Neither of the tests was expired and I did do them the say day within an hour of each other using the same pee. Does this change any of your answers?

If you have had a positive then you are pregnant. It is nearly impossible to get a false positive, but it is very possible depending on the HCG levels to get a false negative. When I was pregnant with my oldest I took two urine tests and they were both negative. That same day I got a blood test done to confirm that yes I was pregnant and that is when my doctor told me about the chances of false positives and negatives. So to you I say CONGRATULATIONS!

If you do need more reassurance I would get a blood test.. .But you are going to be a Mommy!

Did you take both pregnancy tests the same day? if you did that is why the second one was negative, I'd say that there is NO false positive so I would trust your first test. How early have you tested? in early pregnancy your hcg is not very high that is why you should do it first thing in the morning. Wait two more days if you are indeed pregnant your hcg duplicates every other day so the line should be darker. Good luck but like I said there are not false positives!!

A false positive is very rare. The only time you get a false positive is if you have just had a baby or had a miscarriage. Pregnancy hormones could still be floating around in your system. Chances are you are pregnant. Schedule an appointment with your doctor to be sure. Good luck on getting a boy. We have 2 of them and are dying for a girl. (I have to add that I love my boys dearly and couldn't imagine them being anything else)

A postive result only happens if there is HCG in your body, a pregnancy hormone. I would if your concerned at your doctors office for a blood test. Sometimes if one comes out negative in another brand its because the strip they use is not as strong as another. Some detect faster then others. Good Luck

It is very unlikely to have a false positive. SOunds like you could be pregnant but you should make an appointment to get some blood work done soon! It is common to have a fasle negative. Good luck!

You ARE pregnant, u cannot get a false positive as the test ONLY works by detecting pregnancy hormane - no hormone no positive.

Congratulations!!!!!
