Honey, you'd better call your doctor ASAP. It could be just a period or it could be an infection. If you've been bleeding for more than 45 days after delivery, you have a problem. Get some help PRONTO! This could be something very serious and life-threatening.

Good luck. I will be thinking of you.

While it is normal to bleed for up to 6 weeks, the bleeding should be decreasing, not increasing. Go to your doc, this could be serious, or it could be nothing. Also, if you are breastfeeding only, your period normally stays away for a few months.

Get to the emergency room. You shouldn't bleed more than 4-6 weeks and especially should start tapering off by 3-4 weeks.

45 days is a bit long for bleeding.. sounds like there may be something left inside. 45 days to get your period for exclusively breastfeeding seems a bit soon. Go check with your doctor. What did they say at your 6 week postnatal checkup?

i would be making a Dr appointment...45 days is way too much to be bleeding after birth. Breastfeeding only does not mean that you won't get your period...all women are different

I breastfed exclusively and bled for 6 weeks. The last 2 weeks were really light. I didn't start my cycles until she was 8 months old.

If it is heavy and gotten worse than when you were at the hospitial I would call your doctor and see if they can see you. It is better to ask. Especially if there are clotts. When I had my son I was told if the flow increased and got clotts to come in.

definitely contact your doctor or go to the emergency room if the bleeding is extreme. You can become anemic, and that is quite serious
