I am 27 weeks and 2 days and for the last 2 days I have been having cramps (maybe contractions). They are very irregular and come and go all day long. I just had one and it feels ike a pintching and then tightness. Are these cramps, braxton hicks, or contractions? What does this mean?

i JUST went to the doctor with these. Iam almost 6 months. I knew they were braxton kicks, but i woke up one morning with pain along with them.

They werent effective contractions, they didnt result in pain to me or the baby, just discomfort, a feeling like i had to fight the urge to contract my stomach muscles with each one.

Anyway, theyre braxton hicks. theyre okay. not enough water, not enough sleep, and too much stress can all cause them.

Also, right at the same time, i had horrible pain from my tendons stretching. i didnt realize it could hurt so bad all across my belly. it was this icky pinching tight pulling painful stop-me-in-my-tracks pain.

They went away after a day or so, just like the doctor said. The farther along you get, the less room you uterus has inside the abdomin, and it has to start pulling out and down. and it HURTS from time to time.

if you want to feel better about the whole situation, just go in and have them check your cervix, you'll find you're sealed up tight and everything is fine.

braxton hicks, nothing serious. drink some water and lay down if u can. alot of early contractions are brought on by dehydration. when ur muscles get dehydrated rthey cramp up. and the uterus is the largest muscle in u r body so yea its goin to get affected majorly by dehydration. the key to preventing bad cramping and bad contractions, lots and lot of fluids, more particularly water. i drink two bottles of 20 oz a day then drink juices and milk and water at dinner or what not to equal the 60 oz or more that doctors say we pregnant women need a day.
and its not to early to be feeling these, i felt them as early as 24 wks and they tried to tell me they werent braxtons but they were cause the same tightening was still happening at 28 weeks and then the doctors agreed with me and said they are braxtons.

Call your doctor and you will be given the info you want. Each person and pregnancy are different. Some people only have cramps and others have pressure or pain in the back that wraps around the body. Usually they start getting regular so you can time them but you could be one that starts with some discomfort and then goes in a matter of minutes. You will probably have to go in so they can see if you are dilated at all. Good luck!

Real contractions (the ones that actually dilate your cervix) hurt like a *****. There is no mistaking them. They're lower down in your abdomen, and feel like the absolute worst menstrual cramps you've ever had, multiplied by 100. They can also feel like diarrhea cramps (the kind you have when you have food poisoning or the stomach flu, and your stomach is very upset). Tightness and pinching are normal for BH contractions--but if they actually hurt, call your ob/midwife.

braxton hicks. Does it feel like the baby just curled up in a ball when your belly tightened? It's too early for labor contractions. When you're in labor, you'll know

well at 27 weeks it better not be contractions. You really should call your doctor if your concerned ... and possibly go get them monitored so they can see if you are having contractions or just braxton hicks!!

GO TO THE DOCTOR! i thought it was braxton or just bad constipation and ended up giving birth a month and a half early. My child is perfect but it was scary - he was so small. He had to stay in NICU for 2 weeks

i dont want to scare you but i think u should call the maternity ward and get yourself checked over just incase, when i was 27 weeks pregnant i kept waking up through the night with a sharp pain in my back but i thought nothing of it as i woke up the next morning the pain was getting worse i phoned the maternity ward and they told me to come in.i thought it was braxton hicks but when i got to the hospital they examined me and told me i was fully dilated!!! my baby was on his way! i was petrified i gave birth to a baby boy that same day he was 13 weeks early weighing 2lb 10oz hes now 1 and doing really well!!
as i say its best to get checked over just incase you r in labour
hope evrything goes ok u will be fine

I would guess braxton hicks. especially if they are unregular. If they become more regular I would at least call your Dr. Also check out www.babyzone.com they have a lot of great information!
