K i cant sleep, so ill ask this before bed.

I want to join the military. Ive always wanted too since i was little, cuz my dad...long story.

Anyway, i want to join. Ive ALWAYS been a great shot, since i was old enough to hold a pellet gun, ive always been able to hit a bullseye from a long ways away.

So i was thinking maybe a marksmen a.k.a. sniper

But then again, i like being up in the action, i like being in the face of the enemy, 'so i can see the look on his face when i win' lol like that quote.

Whats your advice if i went about joining?

oh and i know it might be helpful to know i have diabetes

I think before a President can order other men into mortal combat to kill or be killed, that he or she should have at least served on active duty in a branch of the miltary and showed up and not have lots of missing pages from his or her miltary record. If they are President then 3 Senators with good, clear military records should give the approval of the order to war. It seems unfair to send men and women into combat if you did not even show up for even the Air National Guard doesn't it?

If we bomb Iranian nuclear facilities, the radioactive cloud similar to the one that emerged after the Chernobyl disaster would probably appear and make many people in the world sick - sckin cancer, thyroid cancer, breast cancer, etc. Is it possible to avoid getting sick?

I dont know about you but honestly I am tired of hearing of Iran defying us and their arogant pursuit of WOMD. Not only are they supplying the terrorist in iraq, but are threatening our ally Isreal with threats claiming to wipe Isreal off the map. I believe it is time we show Iran that those who dare to defy the west, threaten our allies, deny the holocaust, support terrorist that are killing US troops, and already threatening to cause chaos if more sanctions are enforced because of their own arrogance. What are your thoughts? Put yourself in President Bush's shoes and take these into consideration:
would you allow Iran to gain nuclear weapons,
Iran refuses to stop no matter what, so you cant talk your way out of it
You have the knowledge that if Iran gets nukes, they will sell it to some jihad group for some religious jibberish to use against the west or isreal.
What would do?

I basically have to write a briefing note explaining the issues and advantages of the following three options:
1. Conscript for national defence only
2. Conscript for national defence and overseas service
3. Do not conscript
I also need to provide a recommendation for one of these options. Thus far, I have been using the Vietnam war as an example.

Lets say this officer not only keep their nose clean, but, was actually quite a capable officer with no warnings, demerits or whatever they get for problems. The evaluations were always 4.0 (perfect), and this officer would be up for advancement at the earliest possible time. Lets also say there are to be no meritorious advancements for heroic behavior, just a standard advancement. How many years before they are advanced to Lt. Commander? A web site would be good enough too that details this time frame. Not just which ranks go in order. I don't need the best worded answer just the soonest! I've got $5 that says I'm right! And my neighbor needs to lose! ha ha!!!

I REALLY miss being in the Coast Guard. I was discharged because of a problem i have with my knee. I have heard rumor it is possible for me to re-enlist. I dont quite understand how that would be possible. I don't remember the code on my dd-214 but it is a honarable discharge with medical listed under description. So i did get a fully honarable discharge. I was discharged back in february. I wouldn't mind going in the CG reserves but with my knee i dont think i would ever get through boot if i had to go to boot my run time is through the floor I basically only run now if i was in a burning building But i miss the military a lot.

Hey everyone,

I've recently been giving serious consideration to joining the Navy as a Musician. I completed my second year of music school back in May and I am a percussionist. I would like to know what happens after boot camp for musicians and what life is like for full enlistment. Also, I'd like to know about the pay scale. Thanks!

I'm about to turn 40 years old and I am debating if I should take a chance on joining the army. I have a 3 year old at home but the wife could handle things better with me half way around the world. I don't need to make a lot of money but need to have life insurance if I go. Any knowledge on what the army gives you if you die in combat? Also any other pitfalls. How long would i have to sign up for. I have a masters degree in telecommunications and I am in fair physical shape.

I am currently in the USAF DEP but have come to wanting to leave the DEP program to pursue a college degree on my own. Now i asked my Tech Sergeant what kind of discharge i would get for leaving while in DEP but he stated he wasn't at liberty to tell me. Now i contacted the Advisors for the USAF recruitment and they told me it would be a DEP discharge with a code put into prevent further processing with the USAF. Is there anything i can do since my Recruiter made a blatant lie about information i am entitled to?

are known to be joined at the hip with Iran, does this not make the shiites part of the axis of evil?
If we had supported Iraq before in the war against Iran, then why were we so worried about Saddam repressing the shiites?
Shouldn't we want the shiites to be repressed and seperated from Iran?
Hasn't this become an evident truth since the main enemy our soldiers are facing now are the shiite insurgency?

I'm a 20 year old female. About three years ago I suffered a severe lower back injury and had to have surgery to correct it. My back is now fully functional and I can do strenuous activities but I do have mild to moderate daily pain. There is a visible three-inch scar. I went to see a recruiter today about joining the Army and he said I could get a tattoo over the scar so the injury wouldn't be discovered during my medical evaluation. Is this ethical? Should I lie about my injury/surgery? If I did admit to my injury, would I be disqualified from joinging the Army or limited in any way in what they would allow me to do?

Please let this be only for those who will respectfully honor either an active, guard or reserve member of the US Military or a veteran. It doesn't have to be a war story but it certainly can be.
