What is the earliest record of Pipes being used in a battle and a clue here it was not the scots !

http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/this_britain/article3209883.ece
Author and former Green Jacket Andy McNab remains a lifelong admirer of the pipes. "As a young soldier, I often heard the stories of Scottish infantrymen who became so pumped up on adrenaline after hearing the sounds of their pipes and drums during an attack, they wouldn't actually realise they were dead for 20 yards after they had been shot," he said, paying tribute to the guardsmen who he said march with "a pipe in one hand a rifle in the other.".

The dirt here is so fine that it sticks to anything. It's like brown flour. And i'm afraid to find out how much of it i've inhaled.

A question was asked at the republican debate the other night by a NOW openly gay Retired Army General: He asked if they thought the men and women of the armed forces were professional enough to work with openly gay men and women.

My question to you military folks...is ARE you profesional enough to work with openly gay people? If not Why? If so..Why?

OK... I'd like to start by saying that I want to serve my country as a Marine or a member of the Army. I want to be in the combat force (infantry), but I'm told by recruiters that I am not qualified (as of right now).

So on with the story. I'm a senior in High School and before I even join the military, I would like a complete college education which will grant me a spot as an officer. I'm aware I'll have time to grow and mature, but as of right now these are my problems (don't insult me or provide foolish answers please).

-I'm 6'1" but only 125 lbs.
-I'm what some people call "skin and bones" or "toothpick".
-I have a very (extremely) MILD case of Asthma. I was diagnosed with it when I was an infant, but I feel I have definitely outgrown it. I play sports nearly every day without the need for an inhaler and haven't had an attack for nearly 6 years or more!

I know I'm small but I'm doing my best to workout of toughen up, and I refuse to take no for an answer!

IF something is as important as risking your life over, such as
going to war, facing the real risk that you could get seriously
injured, maimed for life, or even DIE young... shouldn't you
first check out the facts about WHAT YOU ARE BEING TOLD
BY THE MASS MEDIA?

The problem is, the official 9/11 stories are ALL LIES. All just
cleverly fabricated deceptions designed to make you all hate
Muslims and support war for profit, so that Bush and his elite
friends can get super rich from all the debt spending (that US
taxpayers will have to pay off in the future, including your kids),
and all that oil that will be STOLEN by big anglo-american oil
tycoons.

So consider the 200,000+ tons of steel in each of the Twin
Towers. They stood strong for 56 minutes (South Tower) and
about 102 minutes (North Towers) after being hit by jet planes.
(distractions to get you to rush to
your TV sets). They showed no signs of swaying because they
were designed to survive such impacts.

Aside from the obvious, what happens if he tells you to do push-ups, but you don't do those either?

How disobedient can one be?

If they can't physically hit you, couldn't you just run your mouth all day?

I was just watching "Stripes" and it really made me think...

The government is saying that if your are injured in the line of duty, and you recieved a bonus, but did not complete your contract due to injury (caused by other than your own), you must pay back part of that bonus? Is this correct?
They are saying "because" you didn't complete your contract...
Who says that this person(s) wanted to not complete their contract. The Government fired them after they were hurt on the job. Where is the E.O.?
I was actually kept 6 months after my ETS date so they could medically retire me.
