I recently had a mental eval done. I was supposed to deploy to Iraq September 3, but I have stuck in the rear because the Army doesn't think I am stable enough mentally to go. They are sending me to med-hold, though I only have a temporary profile, everyone is saying that not to keep my hopes up that they Army will chapter me for "unfit for duty." Does this happen frequently?

If any of you are familiar with the century series of fighters we've seen that the F-100 and F-102 was exported to Turkey or Greece at one point and the F-104 to various nations. Why weren't any of the other mentioned fighters ever sold abroad? (excluding Canada's F-101s). The next generation F-4 Phantom meanwhile was widely exported.

They were built in lesser numbers I know but a good number of all those types still ended up in the Davis-Monthan AFB boneyard. Were they just surpassed by other fighters like the F-4, Mirage and other types that quickly in the 60's? or, on the other hand, did the US did not want to export them during the 50's?

end so all of a sudden?

I really believe the war in Iraq is finished. There appear to be sporadic and small attacks only. I don't think the SURGE had anything to do with it, because it was all too simple and quick. One can only suppose that adding more "wood" to the fire makes it burn a little longer, meaning that Al-queda and other fighters would have just been delighted (being them the way they are), to have gone on fighting.

I can only think they would have moved further to the North in hope of getting in on the fight between Kurds and Turkey. But nothing has come out of that.

I truly think the key to it all is there somewhere with the SUNNIS. The US apparently recognized and admitted their strength and future political power or something, and began working on them.

Am I too far off in this?

My step-dad is in the Marines, so I've traveled a lot. One of the places I lived at was MCAS Iwakuni, Japan. I am going to join the Air Force, and I started wondering if it was even the remotest chance that I could be stationed there as Air Force active duty. I'm more curious than anything, because while I do want to get stationed in Japan again, there are a couple AF bases there I could get stationed at if I was so lucky.

My husband is in Navy boot camp, he graduates December 7th. He called me on Thanksgiving and was telling me about this policy. He said that he may go to the "desert" sometime in his 5 years he enlisted for. I researched it didnt find to much, I saw that most of the postitons are filled by See-Bees, Nurses/Doctors or Volunteers. Can someone please help me understand this?!
