You may need to be more specific, but I imagine with phrases like: special operations, top secret, need to know, and many others like those, that there are things that don't get put out in a friendly newsletter to the public.

If you are referring to our military, then yes and no. The military is not doing anything that they are hiding from the government like other foreign Army's might have done in the past.

Don't think that you might know everything the military is doing. There are secret operations going on all of the time. If the general public knew what was going on then security would be compromised .... also public scrutiny would take place as well.

I know this is a vague answer but, I don't feel that it is anything that you should worry about.

The military is always doing something w/o public knowledge...Like sending special forces in to handle things called "Operations other than war" The military also moves ships around, flies planes, builds and tests planes...There is a lot that we do. The reason it is done in secrecy is to give us an edge above the enemy so we can continue to fight and defend ours and other countries.

I certainly hope so. That is unless you have an Active Top Secret SCI clearance that is non-restricted. Believe it or not, you don't need to and are better off not knowing everything the military does. It is necessary for much of that information to be classified; those that want unlimited access are either ignorant or have agendas for that information.

Absolutely. In fact the military could not function at all if they were required to inform us of everything they do. Secrecy is necessary to military operations and it always has been.

Now if you mean does the military make national policy decisions in secret then I hope not but I am in no position to say.

With out the governments knowledge, no.

With out the media's knowledge OF COURSE! There are things that the media and normal population of the USA do NOT need to know.

Civilians and soldiers don't know everything that goes on. Whether it be testing an airplane or launching special operations in a hostile country. They should keep it secret because that makes it harder for our enemies to fight us.
