According to the reputable US Brookings Institute http://www.brook.edu/ current global stocks of nuclear weapons are:

US strategic 9,170
US non-strategic 1,225
Russian strategic 7,622
Russian non-strat. 5,100
UK 260
France 450
China 400
Israel 100-150?

N. Korea ~10?

There are also just under 15,000 inactive but intact US and Russian nuclear warheads which await destruction.

Hmm, it seems they have short Range missiles in high number, maybe 500 or so in the Atomic strike role, IRBM's make up maybe 200 or so, and ICBM's could be anywhere from 20-40 and some numbers place the ICBM's in the 100's. Also moble ICBM's makes arms conformation nearly impossable to know. China is very secretive on the number it has, and its visable Silo's may have a revolving system like the Russsians. (Fire a missile, case rotates a new one. So if you have 12 Silo's you may have 12 missiles, or 60) In recent years the Chinese have began to build more SLBM's (Sub Launched Balistic Missiles) Currently they have two, maybe more boats (submarines) for that. All in all the Chinese don't make it easy telling just how many Nukes they have.

It is unclear how many types of ICBM (Intercontinental ballistic missiles) that China may have. Some facts or figures have been given though.

Estimated for DF-21's are 48 missiles (1800km range)
DF -31 unclear because past tests have failed by China when trying to create this missile.
DF-31A - unknown
DF-5 (these are stored in silos so an accurate count is difficult) - approximately 5 missiles
DF-11 & DF-15 - approximately 450 (short range missiles).

Whether China's long-range missiles increase in number will depend on whether China chooses to continue to deploy its more outdated systems alongside its modern missiles.

They have a few silo-based (DF-5 and CSS-4), and mobile (DF-31, CSS-9). They also have two new ones in development. The exact number is of course indeterminable, as the People's Republic doesn't exactly hand that kind of information out. The estimate is at about 40, with the DF-5 being the most numerous.

No matter what the country, any ICBM's loaded with nuclear weapons is too many.

Hundreds.

But once you get nuked by one, an hour later you're already craving another strike.

If it's one it's too many.
