OK dude heres the Real deal...... I myself was in good shape before army basic( 6'2" and 275 , I was a competetive powerlifter and was only at about 10% body fat) I could bench 465 for 2 good solid reps. When I was done with just basic I had lost 35 pounds and could only bench 385 for 1 ugly rep. Yes you will probably lose weight and get skinnier but your endurance will be way up ( my first pt score was about 55 pushups in 2 minutes, at the end of basic final pt test I stopped at 78 which was 100 % at my age ). My arms were smaller but over all I actually liked the shape I was in even though I felt weak as a little girl. Hope this helps.

Actually you can, but you would have to enlist as a Marine Reservist. You would have to talk to your recruiter for more information but there is a program called the 92 day reservist program. I knew quite a few people that have actually done this and were able to attend college. But basically, they were able to attend boot camp during the summer, check in to their unit before school started. At that time you will be a basic marine with a assigned MOS but you will not officially hold that title until you complete the MOS school. The MOS training is usually done the following summer. You will still be required to attend monthly weekend drills but I have seen many Marines able to balance both lives. So yes, you can be an enlisted Marine and attend college. Most units will do their best to accomodate for your schooling without any problems. The only problem is if you your unit gets activated and deployed somewhere but if you actually sign up to be a Marine, that is your obligation to deploy. You pledged to uphold and defend the constitution and you should do so. If you let your school know that you are being deployed, it shouldn't be a problem.

I went in the Army at 128lbs. Came out of Basic 9 weeks later at 135lbs.

Putting on my old jeans while home on leave I discovered my thighs had outgrown the pants, not my waist my thighs. 6 miles Double Time every day will do that. I was able to do 50 pull ups too.

While I could run and added the pull ups I could not do more than 50 single count push ups and 60 sit ups. I was doing 100 of each every nite before Basic.

For your height, you are probably fifteen to twenty pounds heavier than an ideal weight. You aren't a disgusting fat body by any means, but you're not a light weight either. For you to be efficient in doing pull ups and climbing steep hills in rugged terrain, you will wish that you had less beef to haul around.

I doubt that you will get skinny, but I will bet that you will like your appearance better at about 180.

You won't gain much for muscle, but you won't lose what you have either. You'll just lose whatever bit of body fat you have.

You will become strong during the training and your muscles will harden but you will become slimmer.
