my 16 year old knocked-up step sister wants to marry the [supposed] father of her baby. he is over 18 and just joined the military. they are planning to get married right before christmas at the JOP. my step dad is signing the papers so in that perspective, it would be legal. but my friend who's husband in the military says they cant get married, by the military's standards. that he'd go to prison. her career husband and several others have told her the same thing. im half tempted to call some military office and ask. i know military men are not allowed to have sex with minors. but are they allowed to MARRY minors? (im really hoping NOT)

I have said all along, I am against the war , but support the troops. If I was accepted I'd go over there right now and defend my country. I told the recruiter that if he told me if I went over there tomorrow I'd die in combat, I'd still fly over there. How do yall feel? Do you support the war, the troops? PLEASE NO ANTIAMERICAN BASHING......I dont need to hear that my prez is an idiot, I am allowed to say it, I am a citizen of his country. So please, if you're not American , don't respond to this question. Not being rude or anything, its just a question about AMERICAN soldiers, so I want AMERICAN responses. Thanks all.

My husband is re-enlisting in the Navy. We will be moving and in our late 20's. I am wondering how hard or easy will it be for me to make friends with the other women? I don't have children yet and have focused on my career. I really want to make good friends in a different town and wondered what the women are like that are girlfriends/wives/fiances of the Navy men. do most stay at home, have children, or is it a general mix like civilion life? I'm kinda excited/scared for this change and hoping things will go well and just curious. all answers welcome and most honest/informative will get 10.

Does it mean you support their reasons for fighting? Does it mean you wish them best luck in combat? Is it just something used by presedential candidates to get the topic off the important issues?

Why do they ignore all the other countries that are dictatorships? Why do they stay silent on Israels nuclear weapons. Oh and their own??? The world opposes the US occupation of Iraq and the US is now seen as a bully that kills and tortures at will. Is this what American soldiers are fighting for?

My husband left for BMT three weeks ago. I still haven't gotten his packet so that I can get enrolled in DEERS. I know they fill those packets out while inprocessing, which means I should of gotten it by now. What should I do? Should I call his recruiter or just continue to wait. It's really important that I get it soon though because I need to get enrolled and get medical started because we stopped our other medical and now some medical problems have arised.

Shouldn't there be outrage over the ongoing killing of civilians in Iraq. Bombs are dropped and kill innocents (we did all we could to avoid it they say). More civilians have been murdered by the USA than by Al Qaeda. Who are the real terrorists?

I'm 17 and a boy. I wanna join the marines as a rifleman after college around age 25. I just heard from my friend today that the marines wont let me join because 25 is too old and they prefer younger recruits around age 18-20. is this true? I really wanna join the marines but my parents are forcing me to go to college, so i cant go straight outta high school.

I have read of a number of soldiers who have refused to fight in Iraq because they believe it is morally wrong. Some have been charged. I view this as so courageous. The attack on Iraq was illegal under international law and these soldiers are incredible in their strength. See Iraq Veterans against the war www.ivaw.org
I'm sure some military people who believe in always obeying orders oppose these guys. Why? They are defending justice and opposing human rights abuses and this is what the US claims to stand for.

Situation is as follows:
I have orders to go from Ft Lewis, WA to Ft Benning, GA by March. Issues are that it is where my first wife died and not a fond place I'd like to go back to and the house I have here would cost me about $10,000 more than I have, to sell, for the move. Renting isn't an option it comes up $450 less than what my mortgage is. I can find a job for my rank on post with an acceptance letter. I've been to Iraq twice and ain't scared to go back if called. The position I'm going to in GA is a schooling job. In a time where they are trying to find people to fight that have been hiding do you think I would have trouble getting them to let me stay for one more three year rotation and delete my orders? How? Why? Ect....

If one considers the dictators the USA has supported - Suharto, Saddam, Musharraf etc, how does it justify it? The US claims to be killing for freedom in Iraq (and killing civilians it is) yet props up dictatorship in Pakistan and supports torture around the world. Do you think a time will come when the US is seen as a joke and an enemy of freedom, as it is in much of the world including AUstralia and Britain?
