The American soldier, both men and women, do the best they can in whatever situation they are faced with during service to the US. Most soldiers are honorable individuals, who steadfastly believe they are protecting America, and will protect our freedoms at whatever the cost! I respect and admire, every person who has ever worn a military uniform concerning the United States of America! Their sacrifices are unyielding and their determination unmatched! I pray for the day all of them return home and once again enjoy our hard-fought freedoms and liberty! God Bless our American troops! They have earned their place within our society! Those that serve in our nations Armed Services and are not American citizens...should be offered US citizenship after completing their enlistment with an honorable discharge and it should be effective immediately! America's Armed Forces are comprised of people from many diverse backgrounds, colors, and origins, this is what has made America the greatest nation on the face of the earth!

"Feeling" is not part of a intelligent discussion of the world's political problems. Our military has been and continues to be deployed throughout the world since the 1700's. When one joins the service they accept leadership from the president, regardless who it is. I served under Presidents Carter, Reagan, and GHW Bush. Those in uniform go where and when the Chain of Command orders. As citizens our votes determine who that commander is. Once selected, our elected representatives in Congress provide oversite on executive power. If one does not like our the military is being used, then petition to change it. It's our Constitutional right. But, to say "I support the troops" without supporting the mission is illogical. All of us are supporting the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Philippines, and any other foreign deployment and all ships at sea. One can voice dissent, but they must be willing to accept criticism for their views. Freedom of speech goes both ways and there are consequences. Wisdom and maturity will guide ones voice to say the right thing at the right time. Ignorance and brashness will lead one to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. Strive to be the wisest, not the most expeditious.

I feel the administration has lied to the American people about why they were going into this war, has not properly planned a way to win this war, and has no way of figuring out how to get out of this war. I think we are taking a system of government that is supposed to revolve around freedom and forcing it on someone and that is by definition anti-democratic. I feel this war is harming international relations and keeping much needed money out of the revenue streams of the United States.
All that being said however, it is the fault of the administration, presidential military advisers, Congress and the Supreme Court's . It is in no way, what so ever, the fault of the soldier over there fighting in a war and answering the call of his or her nation. Those people over there are brave and are making our nation proud. I commend them for what they are doing, and I feel is it paramount that we as Americans who oppose the war direct our frustrations to the correct places, that being those who have the authority to order those soldiers to harm's way, and not those soldiers fighting in a war for a great nation.

They are my heroes. I like sports and music and all that crap, but the soldiers are my heroes. They have volunteered to go and defend our country - they are taking the fight to the terrorists and with Bush's troop surge it's finally gaining momentum and we're absolutely winning. Even the Democrats have acknowledged that the surge is working. I have 2 cousins over there and dozens of friends and acquaintences there. I email them and get letters from them - they all say the same thing: They love being over there and they are doing a lot of good for the people of Iraq. What people don't get is that THEY ARE WARRIORS. They want to be in battle, not sitting around listening to people who've never taken a punch in the jaw debate their merit or their cause. They will continue to be victorious and they will come home when it's over.

I definetly support the troops. My husband, brothers, sister, and alot of friends are all military. I thank them everyday for being so brave and putting their life on the lines and sacraficing being away from home. I really wish it would all end and they could come home--it just has dragged out too long. All you can do is keep them in your prayers.

Whether I agree or not about the politics AND the politicians, as long as there are American troops out there in harm's way, I will support them.

I support it but I wish they would all come home. I watched this thing on HBO called Baghdad ER it was a documentary about all the soldiers who were killed or hurt and it made me teary eyed just watching it. I just wish it was all over and done with already. I don't like to see families lose loved ones.

I met thousands of American soldiers, airmen, sailors, and Marines when I was deployed to Kuwait. Most were in transit into/out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
My opinion: they are the best people in world!
