Coast Guard is picky with their recruits. You need to do decent on the ASVAB to get accepted. Because the Coast Guard has less job selection you have to do above average to get accepted. Boot camp is both physically and mentally challenging. But I have been told by several recruits that Boot Camp is more mental than physical.... A little hint... Know how to swim before entering. you don't want to wake up an hour early to take a special class. Link provides major Coast Guard Bases, but stations are everywhere from Antarctica to Alaska. Anywhere their is a port on a US territory.

The military is not that easy to get into anymore. If you want to enlist you better start talking to a recruiter tomorrow. They may not have any openings for boot camp and a follow on school for many more months. It isn't like it used to be where you could just go to MEPS and ship out the same day.
The CG is ALL over the US and even in the Persian Gulf.
You can be anywhere where there is any kind of water. They have stations in the Great Lakes, on any of the nations rivers, FL, CA, Gulf of Mexico, you name it there is a Coastie there. Too many places to name, as a new recruit they kind of tell YOU where you are going and not the other way around.

well honestly coast gaurd is one of the easiest services to get to. but if you want a challenge with great rewards you ought to apply to the Coast Gaurd Academy. Military Acadamys are the most prestigious schools you could attend. In exchange for about 4-8 years in the Coast Gaurd, the academy will give you a college degree, some of the best schooling in the world, and a commission as an officer in the coast guard once youv graduated from the academy. its a lil more challenging, requires lots of patience, time, and phisical and mental strength. this is more of a long term goal because it takes 4 years to graduate. but if you want a career and plan on doing more than coast gaurd then you might want to look into this more detailed

If you are already at boot camp then you are already in the Coast guard. Every service has their own. The stations are pretty much next to any sizable body of water in the US, ie lakes rivers and oceans.

actually, the CG is the HARDEST to get into, by sheer virtue of the fact that they are only taking like 1500 people TOTAL all year .
