NO, if you meet the entrance requirements, that's not too old. Talk to a recruiter. If you have a degree you could go in as an officer. EVERY Marine is a rifleman, from the Commandant of the Corps all the way to the greenest private.

Your parents are trying to look out for you, However once your 18 your a man you have to follow your heart because your the only one that has to live your life. You can join the military way after the age of 25 call your recruiter to get the exact age but its well over 25. Good Luck with mom and pop

You can still join the Marines at age 25; all you have to have is a high school diploma at that age but i you are going to college great. You friend is not speaking of things he knows just things he has heard or thinks are true.

28+ is past the age limits. Why would you wait to join if the Marines can pay for your college? You aren't going to be forced to do anything once you turn 18. Join then if your parent's won't sign Parental Consent.

You can still enlist at 25. With a BA or BS, you can also try to earn your commission and become an officer.
Also, if you really want to enlist that badly, your parents can't stop you from doing so once you turn 18. You could do four years then go to college or go to college and go through OCS or NROTC and earn a commission or go to college and enlist when you finish.
Also, it's Marines (capital M).

at age 18 you can do whatever the hell you want when it comes to enlisting, your parents have no say.
nobody can answer today what the Marines will be looking for in 4 years. the age cut off is 28 for Marines in any event. so long as you otherwise qualify, you can go to college first if you so choose and then enlist/seek a commission.

Yes, they and all branches can just drop you for unspecified reasons. During the recruitment process, you are trying to join us and if that isn't believed to be genuine then they will break contact.
The way of the world.
25 and a college degree means Officer Candidate School if you are smart enough.

The Marine Corps would reject anyone if they do not fit into their requirements. I guess your parents have better options for you. Why not try it? You can still enter the Marines after college.

Thats a load you are hearing from your buddy!! Although all branches do prefer younger recruits because they more easily molded and indoctrinated. They also readily accept "older" recruits too, more mature and worldly. My advice is to attend ROTC and become an officer and a gentleman!

No one can force you to go to college unless you let them. And the service is a good way to pay for it.
