Regardless of who asks this, it's still a valid question.

Should we kick people out for admitting they are straight?

Again... WHY? Are there any legitimate reasons besides hate and ignorance?

Get my facts straight? What fact did I lay out? You assume way too much. Interesting, though, that you still didn't answer the question... lol

You are correct, it is a valid question no matter who asks it.
I, personally, feel that gays should be allowed to openly serve. They are already serving, just behind closed doors.
I do, however, feel that the sexual preferences of individuals no matter what they are should not be discussed in the work place.
I am married to a US Marine who has served for 22 years. He doesn't care if someone is gay or not as long as they can do their job. That is how it should be.
I'm not really a dem or a con. I would say that on several issues I am conservative and on others I am more liberal. Funny thing is that I think I represent more of the norm of the nation than either party.

The don't ask don't tell concept does two things.

1. Keeps them from being a target of others after they come out of the closet.

2. Allows them to serve with honor in the military if they want too.

Many times, those who get drunk and "come out" often get beaten or worse. When in Nam in 72, a guy in the unit got drunk and admitted he liked watching people shower and that he was in love with one certain guy, a Marine.

Next day, he was in the hospital. Someone opened up and number 10 can of hurt on him and when he recovered, he was shipped out.

You have to consider the people you are with. Just because someone has a different sexual preference from the rest of the squad, doesn't mean the others have to accept that behavior.

Many Gays serve with honor and stay very low key so they don't become a statistic.

Gays are in the military. They are not allowed to be "out" while serving in the military.
Personally I think it is for thier own protection to not be out. The military is not a gay friendly environment. Being out could be dangerous or deadly.
Can we change this fact? I don't think so, the military is one bastian that the walls will not fall too easily, if ever.

Who cares ??

Democrats are the ones who banned gay people from the military, not Republicans.

Get your facts straight.

Just like Democrats banned gay marriages, in every single Liberal State.

And the question thats never been answered,

Where do you billet an openly gay service member ?

You cannot put them in a barracks room with someone of the same sex.

That would be no different than billeting men and women in the same barracks room.

My roommate in Germany was gay. No one cared and no one bothered him. Of course he did not act like a fairy and he wasn't flamboyant about it. He seemed like another guy and he did his job.

I also new a gay female in the Army. She actually hated women in the Army.

They are allowed in per the Bill Clinton don't ask don't tell policy. I am a conservative and would be fine with keeping Clinton's policy which is still in place.

because of increased cases of molest and rape obviously

and besides the fact that it would **** up tradition

in songs, in poems, in stories

about how the big brave man would come home to his WIFE and kids...so no.'

and why would u want a gay in the military? he might think an enemy soldier is too cute to kill *JOKE, CALM DOWN*

so just leave it alone as it is...rules or rules dont waste ur time trying to change them.
