Does anyone know any information or place i could get more information on an Air Force Pilot who shot himself down over Vietnam?

Does anyone know the odds of being killed in the military right now?
not an exact number, but I have three friends that are all going into the military within the next year, and of course i'm really scared for them... but I want to know, worst case scenario, how likely is it that they could be killed?
Two of them are going on active duty.
One of them is going into the army on active duty.
Another one is going into the Marines on active duty.
and the other one is going into the air force. not sure if it's active duty or not. But does anyone know, like how likely they are to be killed?

This is what someone told me !!! IS IT TRUE ????

she will be in for however her contract states....people in basic training dont get called up, b/c they havent been fully trained....but anytime after that she can be, she needs to read her contract she signed and see how long she signed up for and let you know

Ok so if i guess to the military reserves for just basic training ..i heard you don't have to go to war because its just basic training???? Is this true ?? Please help me out and explain !!! Thanks ~

I have just recently obtained my GED. I have heard many different things from people stating that I cannot go into the military without a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. And that I CAN be accepted into the Marines with just a GED but its rare... Can anyone with experience clarify this for me please? :] I've also heard that Marines don't get sign on bonuses quite as much as other branches.... Not that important but would like to know a bit about that?

as everday passes and women fight harder and harder to be teated equal as a man, i think we should let them, let them get sacked in the N.F.L , we should be able to knock their lights out in self defence, send them with troops in Iraq, and when husband and wife have a fight where police come to the resident, stop putting the man in cuffs off the bat as a precaution until the cops find out wut happened.

I'm 16,i'll be 17 in june.
I've wanted to be a ranger since I was 8 years old hearing my uncle talk about it,but he has since passed away..
I'm not just trying to jump into this,and i'm not stupid.
I know it's gonna take major commitment,and I know what I'll have to complete to get in.
But i've been lifting and running everyday for almost 2 years now and while I can get the run down in way under the time limit,I can't even DO the 80-100 pushups/situps/pullups,let alone in 2 minutes or better..
I know it's endurance,but what can I do to get to my goal?
I just want to know honestly from either people who know someone who has,or a person that has,gone through the RIP and everything else.
please,any information is fine...

My best friend is going into the military reserves I think as a admin. ! But i am not 100% sure ...but anyways she will be going jan. 3rd till about may something ....When she is done in may ....and say she doesn't get deployed and she is finished ..can they call her up still to go to war even though she is done with all the training etc. ??? Please answer !! Thanks ! Explain please !~

My daughter, my husband, and I are assigned to three different military facilities in our city. I hate this, because for one, I never see my PCM. Everytime I am sick ( I get sick alot) I get assigned to whatever random doctor is open for that day. I have yet to ever see the same doctor twice, I never have a chart, and they don't really seem to care. I went last week because I've been coughing and my chest is burning, and of course I saw someone that was not my PCM. I'm still sick, tried to make an appt. today with the same doctor, but she has no appointments, and none open for the rest of the week. I hate military insurance and facilities. Anyone else have problems like this??

Says that they're ashamed to live in America and call our Nation disgraceful and other names? When they compare us to terrorists etc... It makes me MAD! Yeah, well today I got a violation notice from yahoo...I kind of got onto this asker's case when they slammed our Nation. I called them an @ss in my answer, (sorry about that, but I"m passionate about my Nation!!!), anyways... Don't you ever just want to tell someone whats what when they say crap about our Nation and it's not true? Should I feel bad that I offended that asker (I don't- I'll stand up for my Nation every time!)? Hi,
My husband served a few years with the Air Force and then went into the Army. He got out in 2005 and not he is thinking of enlisting again.
The recruiter told him that he thinks they are starting a program for prior military were they can come in with their rank etc.
Has anyone heard about anything like this? Also when might it start?

My Great-grandfather was a boy soldier in the Cameroonian regiment.I believe he may have served during the Boer War.How would a young Yorkshire lad in Dewsbury become associated with a Scottish regiment? I am not aware of any Scottish family connections. Did they recruit in Yorkshire?
