What's to say the military has already allowed murderers and psychos into their ranks?

After all, desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

I am an extremely well qualified candidate for NF (nuclear field). I received a 90 on the ASVAB and I have all of the high school class qualifications. I am currently being considered for the NROTC scholarship for OSU (to hopefully be a nuke officer). The only bad thing that I have against me is that I am colorblind. I failed the colorblind test at MEPS during my DEP physical. Is their a way that I could get a waiver so that I could serve in the Navy (at least enlisted) as a nuke, or in any other field that requires "normal color perception."

If you think inaction is justifiable.. should the U.S. have intervened in Europe when the invasion of Poland was clearly imminent? What is the difference?

I just graduated from Marine Corps recruit training and was wondering what I will be doing? My MOS is 0621 Field Radio Operator. Am I going to be one of those guys carrying a giant radio on his back and walking the terrorist streets with the grunts? Because I hope not. I am really hoping I stay on base wiring up buildings and stuff and repairing things.

My sister was wounded in Iraq and recieved the purple heart. She is now trying to start her schooling, and has found a great college. She found out that her purple heart benefits are for her children only, and her GI bill is only for state supported school (the school she wants to go to is private). She cannot leave the area b/c she is not done with treatment, and there are no other programs in the local schools. She does not qualify for federal aid. Is there anything else she can do? She cannot afford a private loan, as she has no income during her recovery period.

Hi. I know everyone should know how to use a bayonet as it's obviously a piece of standard kit. But how often are they used in combat given that most modern conflict takes place from great distances? Are they last resort weapons or are they sometimes chosen for specific tasks in real combat (not Hollywood).

Does your standard infantry soldier know how to use a bayonet or knife to any great extent, other than 'thrust and twist?'.

I ask because I am off to join the RAF Regiment soon and I have heard that the RAFR have a special bayonet training exercise- true?

Why or why not?

I personally think we defiantely shouldn't.

It would cost more money and it would also put the soldiers life in danger.

What do you think?

I've been asked by the city of Frankfurt to provide information on the people for whom the following streets on the now closed Rhein Main Air Base were named. It's possible that streets on other air force bases were named after them also. They are: Hewell Road, Ellis Road and Boyd Road. Any historical information on any of these gentlemen would be appreciated.

What even with the great surge? I guess the more Americans you put in danger the easier it is for the freedom fighters to pick them off. I wonder if there are any Americans left that actually think this war will end well for them? I guess it is easier to just trust Bush and not think about the reality of it for some simple minded people.
