What do you think?

Thanks,

i wonder if the date was chosen for that reason.

I've seen a medal impressed:

Heinr.Kock.Hus.MGI

Now, I can work out that the guy's name is Heinrich Kock and that the Hus probably means he was an Hussar. But the MGI has me scratching my head. Any ideas?

does this mean they actively signal out and try to fail those recruits they dont think belong.

I go to bootcamp in January and I couldnt stand it if I didnt make it through bootcamp.

Marine Vets or marines currently serving please tell me how to be a good recruit, and any other advice you have for me.

Who are the bad recruits?
What are drill instructors looking for?
Can they fail you on a whim?

I was in the Armed Forces from 1968 to 1972 during the Viet-Nam war. I voluntiered for world wide overseas duty and I was sent to Thule Greenland for a year. (That's another story) The only hats that I can find that involve Viet-Nan Says "Viet-Nam Veteran" and it has the ribbons that a service man would receive for serving in Viet-Nam. Is it appropriate for me to be able to wear this hat even though I never saw Viet-Nam and am just considered a Viet-Nam era Veteran? It would be very embaracing for me if a true Viet-Nam veteran saw me wearing this hat and as we start talking about Viet-Nam, he asked me where I was stationed in Viet-Nam? Ahhhhhhh, I never saw Viet-Nam, but I was in the service between 68 and 72 and considered a Viet-Nam era Veteran.

Is it proper for me to be able to wear this type of hat?

I have to do a research paper for a class and I was wondering if I could ask ya'll for some info.

I don't know if this is correct but-did the time for overseas deployment change from 1 year to 15 months? If so, then when and why?

What is the max time that you can be deployed?

Does the deployment time change from different military branches? For example, in the Army would then time be different then say, the Marines?

Would time be dependent on situation?

Are there any regulations the military must follow when deploying a person? Such as they have to be home so many months, etc.

In your opinion why is this a good idea/bad idea?

thank you all so much! :)
