every time you think of the emergency number 911 you remember the events of 9/11.

i wonder if the date was chosen for that reason.

Libs do not believe Bush was behind 9/11. Only the conspiracy theorist nut-jobs believe that. Libs had a problem with the way Bush handled the situation and especially the way he incorrectly linked the war in Iraq with the terrorist attacks.

As for the date...no one will know if that was what the terrorists were thinking or not. I think it was just a strange coincidence.

September 11th is the anniversary of the day when King Jan Sobieski, riding at the head of a Christian Army, stopped the forward advance of a Turkish Muslim Army at the Battle of Vienna. From that point on, Islam retreated out of Central Europe into its current geographic boundaries. The day was September 11, 1684. In similar fashion, the attack on Madrid's transit system was launched on the anniversary of the fall of Granada in 1492, the last Muslim enclave in Moorish Spain.
We have to learn to quit viewing events through our own ethno-centrist prism.

Typically when I think of 911 I think of the wonderfull help that will soon be at my door to aid me with my emergency. Thank you to the American emergency systems.

9/11 has not changed that. Nor has your question.

On the contrary it reeinforced the 'BEST' part of America, that people, perfect strangers will stop and help thier fellow Americans in time of need.

That Americans do make a difference.

Probably not...different culture. I believe they just picked a date that was convenient to their mission. Pretty damn ironic though, huh?

Libs believe Bush was behind 9/11. Are you saying he's brilliant?

Huh?

I don't think the arab terrorists chose the date for any reason other than that's when they could all get tickets on the planes.

EDIT: out of sheer curiosity, why the thumbs downs?
