I have often wondered the same thing.
I thought at first, it might be a good idea to bring back National Service, and any immigrants that want to be part of the system should also join and atleast be deployed to help recover the country they fled from (which would free up some of our own men).

However, our Army and Navy is of such a high quality that any people "forced" to join would dilute the reputation we hold.
Endangering the Army is something I never considered, but I suppose its a possibility.
I think backround screening and training would help to a degree, but all they'd really gain (providing they werent too high up the chain of command) is training and locations of troops. (something easily worked out anyway).

I wouldnt like to serve beside anyone I didnt trust.

Doesn't wars endanger the army anyway, in fact is that not the point of an army to put into dangerous situations that no rational, senseable and educated person such as our so called leaders would go into

Your question is not clear but I guess what U mean is to provide job opportunities to Muslim extremist in National main stream. U have to know every individual first. Those who don't have criminal record so far, they can be lured back. Others can be given light punishment and brought back into main stream. Well, that is what government is already doing. Misguided youths should be brought back in the national main stream. What is needed is social awareness and social justice. Social injustice fuels extremism in the mind of youths. End social injustice, extremism will die its own death. There is so much of social injustice that comparatively extremism is much less. Hundreds of years of suppression has made us submissive. If U want to end extremism U have to see it from their angle.

I think the military are intelligent enough to carry out background checks on anybody it might have any suspicions about.

The local Police Force in the area the person comes from will be contacted to see if there is any information on the person.

A similar system was used in WW2 to check out Japanese and German American citizens.

But there is always the slight possibility of one managing to escape the net.
