I love when they deflect the question. Not.
Democrats are thought of as the more peaceful party.
Dennis Kucinich, Strength through Peace. He's my candidate. I love him. (not really. I love his ideas, plans.)
I'm in favor of the draft. Let Romney's boys fight if the war is so important.
We need to get out of Iraq. Bush/Cheney should be impeached. They were completely in over their heads and irresponsible. Waterboarding is torture. No question. No doubt. It is. We have accomplished nothing over there. There has always been fighting in the Middle East. Always.

I don't understand why people are attempting to make this war into simply a political issue. Although I am a Republican.... I am sure that President Bush has created enough enemies to ensure the Democrats get into the White House at the next election. Do you really believe that a Democratic President would have done any different? If he sat on his butt after 9/11, people would have had his head. It is not POLITICS as much a PERCEPTION of the average person on the streets. I am also sure you believe the next President will wave his Democrat magic wand.... and the Twin Towers will magically re-appear and we will no longer have to worry about terrorists.
President Bush was and is in a damned if you do....damned if you don't situation. Grow up and understand your countrymen and women. Quit attempting to reduce this to a they did and we didn't situation...since that isn't the truth.
If you ARE a vet....did you spent 4 years as an E1? Quit whining and get on with your life.

You are making a blanket statement that betrays the depths of your ignorance and a lack of fortitude to do what needs to be done WHEN it needs to be done. You're monicker states you are a veteran. Veteran of what? The chow line?
Nobody is in love with war. Especially those who have to do the fighting and make a career of the military.
It's just that it's mostly republicans that see the necessity of dealing with an enemy who wants to wipe out your way of living and your life in the process with the only language that enemy seems to understand. Force of arms.
I'll bet you a dime to a dollar that there are more sons and daughters of republicans involved in the fighting of this war than there are of democrats.
Most democrats want to sit around a campfire and sing "koom-ba-ya" with the terrorists and just see if we can't all just "get along." And they raise their sons and daughters in the same mold. They don't realize that they will be among the first to be "put to the sword" should this war (NOT only Iraq!) be lost.
Armies are always comprised of someone else's sons and daughters. Those sons and daughters see the necessities that arise and are willing to make the sacrifices needed to preserve what they love and honor. If you cannot see it as they do, then there is very little chance you ever will, and all you will do is sit back and complain about "someone else's sons and daughters" having to do the fighting to save your anti-American buttocks.

Dems Love it too. Money, money, money....neither side (dems or reps) go into war unless they get something out of it. It's politics baby..The biggest, costliest, game we play. Why don't we invade the many other little countries out there ? Cause they have nothing we want. Think about it.. Your asking an "Us versus Them " question. And it doesn;t apply to just one party. All are guilty as charged. War is a money making machine, great for (our) economy (for a while). Now when gasoline is nearing $8.00 a gallon , who do you think we are going to blame? The government, oil companies ? We will want a resolution, and guess where that comes from? Start a war in a country that has what need. Our track record is full of bullying....look what happend to the real native americans many years ago, these foreigners came from over seas and said, Get out or we'll kill you..this is ours now...... Were just doing what we do best.

I consider myself to be independant, but have voted for Republican Presidential candidates. And one of the reasons I fight because then maybe my sons won't have to. If need be, I hope they do the same for their sons some day.

Actually, the post that stated that most wars were started by Democrats, factually and historically true.. even vietnam, we started putting advisors in there right after WWII.... dont believe it, google it all... look at history of almost every war this country has EVER had, and it is true.

How can one_for... get thumbs downs on his answer when he is 100% correct. I'm not sure if the folks that gave him a thumbs down are retards or what.
FACTS for the tards...
WW1-Woodrow Wilson- Democrat
WW2-Franklin D Roosevelt- Democrat
Korea-Harry S Truman- Democrat
Vietnam- Although Dwight D Eisenhower sent in military advisors it was JFK that got our men involved and continued through LBJ... both Democrats. Nixon got us out of Vietnam- Republican
Invasion of Dominican Republic- LBJ- Democrat
Grenada- Ronald Regan- Republican
Assuming you can do first grade math...
What were you a cook in Vietnam? What made you turn into such a coward that you believe Republicans are at fault here?
BTW... I'm a Republican (if I HAVE to categorize myself) and I extended my enlistment to go. What a shame a coward like you didn't serve!

We are Republican and OUR son is fighting. He joined after he finished College. July 2001 He is not in love with war; nor are my wife and I. We hate it. We all know the war is a just and necessary one. Evil exists and it's never evil to stand between the innocent and evil. That's exactly the way it is. The ENEMY is in love with war. I'm glad I could clear that up for you. Perhaps, you will one day, thank him on Veteran's day?
