The USAF F-15's are, on the average, 20 years old. Like the Navy's F-14's, they have out lived their usefulness and are being replaced by the F-22 Raptors. It happens. As new technology comes along, new weapons replace the old. Remember when the CATAPULT was the cat's meow? It got replaced, too.
