i dont really know about an officer career but i do know that you cant just come over here to join the army because of the south african government. they are trying to "make" soldiers to come back (the ones that are currently in the british army) because they dont want them to take part in wars in iraq/afghanistan. you will have to write to your government and ask for permission first, once you get it you can try to sort out a visa. i have south african friends and the husband is in the army and they came here on a visa,so thats a legal way. and yes you will have to live and work in the UK for a set amount of time to get a british passport. good luck!

Sorry Owen, do not think you meet the U.K. imergration criteria!

You might inquire at home about the South African Army if there is any chance getting on a course at Sandhurst as an exchange officer candidate, but you will need to meet the education (University) and physical requirements.

Oh, I don't think they make you wear hold ups.

Possibly a nice pair of ff stockings with a point heels... but hey
